How to Crack NEET 2026 on First Attempt?

Go through the NEET preparation tips 2026 below to know how to study the complete syllabus, what to practice for the exam and what should be the preparation strategy to clear NEET 2026 exam on first attempt.

Cover the syllabus & know chapter-wise weightage: While starting the preparation, it is important to know the NEET syllabus 2026 properly, along with the weightages of subject-wise topics. For this, it is important to undergo NEET analysis of the last year or previous years. Knowing the NEET Chapter-wise Weightage helps students in chalking out a plan on which topics to prepare for and which topics can be safely left out. Since the syllabus of NEET is quite vast, it is not possible for an aspirant to cover each and every topic. With the help of the analysis, students can easily estimate which are the important chapters that need to be prepared thoroughly.

Get the right books and study materials: There is no dearth of NEET books and study materials in the market. But hoarding all those books would be nothing but an example of the common proverb: too many cooks spoil the broth. Studying all the books on NEET preparation would only lead to information cramming and chaos. Ideally, students should first focus on completing their school textbooks and NCERT books, as those are in tune with the NEET syllabus and question types. Apart from that, aspirants should study from their coaching institute's books and modules. After that, if they are left with enough bandwidth, then they can refer to the other books for NEET preparation.

Q:   How can I score 680+ in NEET in six months?
A:

You can follow a single good book. Try to give maximum time to NEET study. Practise few mocks and previous year papers. It is possible to score this high with six months preparation. Avoid distractions and just follow one single good book.

Q:   I am doing BSc and I want to crack NEET. How do I prepare for NEET?
A:

How do I prepare for the NEET during a BSc Preparation of NEET UG with your on going BSc Degree. There are two things involved and I'm going to give the answer in two fragments. SEE if you are going to do your BSc From a government college where you have to study and pass your sem/annual exam with practicals then it will be lil tough for you, then remember one thing don't make a mistake of studying in last month to take exam of your college bc it will only waste your time of one month which might be very crucial from perspective of NEET and it will be a hazard if sem/annual exam falls near your NEET exam. So study for college solely by attending lecture of your teachers in college and make their notes and you can bunk your college to prepare for NEET don't waste your time in making frnds in college and make a habit of studying for college BSc In only study hours of your college and rest of the time for NEET and make sure you dedicate your focused I repeat focused 5-6 hour of time for NEET and increase it gradually. And for college exams don't take stress you have your notes just revise them before one week and you are good to go If you are doing your B.Sc. From private college then boom don't take any tension just talk to administration and you won't have to attend the college ( if they ask pay them if it's a small college they will accept the offer for 5-6k ) you don't have to attend the lecture and practicals too just go and take the exam and may be they will arrange something for you in exams too like cheating and all you will pass it without any tension. Although you can buy notes of subjects from market notes are available in market and study them before 2 weeks of your exam and you can study for your NEET exam. It would be tough to manage both of them but over-all it is rewarding so do it and ha! Don't take any pressure everything comes from practice and studying is a practice dude! Make a habit of doing meditation you will SEE the benefits within 30 days start with 5 minutes and gradually increase upto 15 minutes for first 30 days it will surely help in your studies. Don't fall for the trap that I can revise something in that 15 minutes or can chill by listening songs or watching videos nope don't do that mediation can ease your journey of preparation.

Q:   How important is taking mock test to prepare for NEET?
A:

Mock tests are an important aspect of NEET preparation. Preparation will be incomplete without taking NEET mock tests. NEET 2026 mock test will give students exposure towards the exam structure. It will also help them understand their preparation level and mistakes to avoid. Students must get the performance analysed thoroughly by an expert or mentor. The analysis will provide insights about the areas of improvement, causes of mistakes, correct approach to attempt questions, time management, etc. The objective of the analysis is to provide an in-depth viewpoint on their performance.

Prepare a systematic study plan: Prepare a timetable dedicating appropriate time to each subject for NEET preparation. This will be useful for students who have to give the board exam as well. Ideally, students should spend six to eight hours preparing for NEET. Within this duration, candidates must focus on three aspects – learning, revision and practice. It is important to work according to the timetable so that you can crack NEET exam in first attempt.

Take ample mock tests: After completing the basic preparation, candidates should start taking NEET mock tests. After completing each section or subject, they should take sectional mock tests. Followed by this, they should start taking full-length mock tests at least three to four months before the exam. There are multiple advantages of solving NEET mock tests. Not only does it test students’ preparation level but it also helps them get accustomed to the exam-taking experience. It is also important to have a good NEET 2026 mock test strategy to know the scope of improvement.

Assess your strengths and weaknesses: After completing the basic preparation, candidates must be aware of their strengths and weaknesses. It is also a critical aspect of preparation to keep one’s strengths and weaknesses in check. If any of the weak areas carry low weightage in the exam, then those topics can be safely eliminated. But if a weak area carries a high weightage then students should ensure that they dedicate more time to the weak areas and understand the reason. Improving weak areas depend on two factors, conceptual understanding and regular practice. With a combination of both, they should be able to improve their weaknesses. At the same time, aspirants should also revise their strong areas also so that they do not lose touch with the topics they are comfortable and confident in.

Prepare a test-taking strategy: Students start testing their knowledge by taking regular mock test. Start your practice with the strongest subject followed by weak subjects to get better at solving question papers. This will help you to manage time and answer properly on OMR sheet.

Proper time management: NEET is a time-bound exam where candidates have to attempt 180 questions in three hours. Without having a proper time management plan in time may be disastrous on the day of the exam. Hence, along with preparing a test-taking strategy, they should also focus on time management. Unless they plan a strategy to manage these three hours, test-takers may end up losing precious minutes and hamper their performance. According to experts, candidates should not spend more than two minutes on a question and in case they find it more time-consuming, they should leave it and move ahead. In case they have time, in the end, they should revisit the question and try to solve it. They should also leave some room for revision, as there are chances of silly mistakes which can mar their performance.

Focus on health and fitness: Candidates should exercise to maintain their physical fitness to keep yourself healthy. Do not take too much stress to maintain your mental health.

Q:   How should I prepare for inorganic chemistry for the NEET?
A:
There are some tricks to preparing for Chemistry. It is a scoring subject and Inorganic is the easiest of all among IOC, OC and physical. Talking about the upcoming NEET you have to face approximately 15 to 18 questions there. Having prepared from NCERT is sufficient. Go thoroughly by judging the whole concept and line. For Inorganic Chemistry, NCERT is sufficient or frankly to say more than enough. For revision try to solve NEET previous years' question papers, especially the last 10 years. Highlighting the words I have to state that especially focus on box or tabulated data of NCERT which will be asked fully as it is. Especially for Hydrogen.
Q:   What is the official website of NEET?
A:

The official website of NEET 2026 will be announced by NTA. The URL of the website in 2025 was neet.nta.nic.in. It was changed from that of 2024, which was neet.ntaonline.in. The website is hosted by NTA.

Q:   How do I prepare for NEET in 5 months?
A:
1. Go through your entire 11th and 12th-grade syllabus multiple times. 2. Establish a good schedule and attitude. 3. You are prepared to work hard for the next coming months. 4. Allowing 4 -5 hours of sitting every day and increasing it to 10 -12 hrs on day. 5. Study in accordance with the scoring system. Concentrating on the positives. 6. Cover your weak topics first as at the end times you will not be able to give time to those topics. 7. Focusing on the topics you have strong hold at the end months. 8. NCERT should be your holy book, revise it multiple times, especially Biology.
