How to Crack NEET 2024 on First Attempt?

Go through the tips and tricks given below to know the various methods to be followed in order to clear NEET on first attempt.

Know the chapter-wise weightages in the exam: While starting the preparation, it is important to know the NEET 2025 syllabus properly, along with the weightages of subject-wise topics. For this, it is important to undergo NEET analysis of the last year or previous years. With this, students can chalk out a plan on which topics to prepare for and which topics can be safely left out. Since the syllabus of NEET is quite vast, it is not possible for an aspirant to cover each and every topic. With the help of the analysis, students can easily estimate which are the important chapters that need to be prepared thoroughly.

Q:   I am doing BSc and I want to crack NEET. How do I prepare for NEET?
A:

How do I prepare for the NEET during a BSc Preparation of NEET UG with your on going BSc Degree. There are two things involved and I'm going to give the answer in two fragments. SEE if you are going to do your BSc From a government college where you have to study and pass your sem/annual exam with practicals then it will be lil tough for you, then remember one thing don't make a mistake of studying in last month to take exam of your college bc it will only waste your time of one month which might be very crucial from perspective of NEET and it will be a hazard if sem/annual exam falls near your NEET exam. So study for college solely by attending lecture of your teachers in college and make their notes and you can bunk your college to prepare for NEET don't waste your time in making frnds in college and make a habit of studying for college BSc In only study hours of your college and rest of the time for NEET and make sure you dedicate your focused I repeat focused 5-6 hour of time for NEET and increase it gradually. And for college exams don't take stress you have your notes just revise them before one week and you are good to go If you are doing your B.Sc. From private college then boom don't take any tension just talk to administration and you won't have to attend the college ( if they ask pay them if it's a small college they will accept the offer for 5-6k ) you don't have to attend the lecture and practicals too just go and take the exam and may be they will arrange something for you in exams too like cheating and all you will pass it without any tension. Although you can buy notes of subjects from market notes are available in market and study them before 2 weeks of your exam and you can study for your NEET exam. It would be tough to manage both of them but over-all it is rewarding so do it and ha! Don't take any pressure everything comes from practice and studying is a practice dude! Make a habit of doing meditation you will SEE the benefits within 30 days start with 5 minutes and gradually increase upto 15 minutes for first 30 days it will surely help in your studies. Don't fall for the trap that I can revise something in that 15 minutes or can chill by listening songs or watching videos nope don't do that mediation can ease your journey of preparation.

Q:   I am a PCB class 11th and preparing for NEET. Is Maths compulsory to qualify for NEET?
A:

Maths is not compulsory for NEET. You have numerical in Physics but you do not required Maths in Class 11 and Class 12 to solve those. If you studied Maths in class 10, then you can solve the numericals in Physics. Since NEET has Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects, it would be advantageous for you if you are a PCB student. Moreover, in case a candidate has studied PCM and not Biology, even as an additional subject, then he/she will not be eligible to appear for NEET exam. Hence, Maths is not compulsory, rather not required for NEET. But having basic mathematical knowledge and skills would be an added advantage.

Q:   How can I score 680+ in NEET in six months?
A:

You can follow a single good book. Try to give maximum time to NEET study. Practise few mocks and previous year papers. It is possible to score this high with six months preparation. Avoid distractions and just follow one single good book.

Assess your strengths and weaknesses: After completing the basic preparation, candidates must be aware of their strengths and weaknesses. It is also a critical aspect of preparation to keep one’s strengths and weaknesses in check. If any of the weak areas carry low weightage in the exam, then those topics can be safely eliminated. But if a weak area carries a high weightage then students should ensure that they dedicate more time to the weak areas and understand the reason. Improving weak areas depend on two factors, conceptual understanding and regular practice. With a combination of both, they should be able to improve their weaknesses. At the same time, aspirants should also revise their strong areas also so that they do not lose touch with the topics they are comfortable and confident in.

Get the right books and study materials: There is no dearth of NEET preparation books and study materials in the market. But hoarding all those books would be nothing but an example of the common proverb: too many cooks spoil the broth. Studying all the books on NEET preparation would only lead to information cramming and chaos. Ideally, students should first focus on completing their school textbooks and NCERT books, as those are in tune with the NEET syllabus and question types. Apart from that, aspirants should study from their coaching institute's books and modules. After that, if they are left with enough bandwidth, then they can refer to the other books for NEET preparation.

Prepare a systematic study plan: Prepare a timetable dedicating appropriate time to each subject for NEET preparation. This will be useful for students who have to give the board exam as well. Ideally, students should spend six to eight hours preparing for NEET. Within this duration, candidates should focus on three aspects – learning, revision and practice. It is important to work according to the timetable so that you can crack NEET exam in the first attempt.

Q:   It is possible to crack NEET exam without coaching?
A:

I will not say, it is impossible. It is possible, but you have work very hard and must give your 200% effort to crack these competitive exams. In my opinion, it is better to take coaching for NEET exam. Coaching makes your exam preparation easier. Sometimes, if you get lots of doubt then you can get it cleared by your tutor who has got subject knowledge.

Students get individual attention at coaching institutes and they focus on learning and development of students as per their requirement. Coaching centers also teach you a lot of tips, tricks and time management that help you to crack NEET exam. But, you have to be careful in choosing a right and resourceful coaching center, as there are many fraud coaching centers that works for money and not for delivering knowledge to students.

Q:   How should I prepare for the NEET?
A:
First of all, do not take NEET preparation lightly as it is the most competitive national-level entrance exam. So be prepared for the efforts. Second, your interest has to be there in all three subjects. Every subject holds marks so it is significant for your rank. Now coming to the priority tips for the NEET preparation- NEET Biology- What anyone would say, first go for NCERT only, so would I. Just go for thorough study materials, every diagram, line, table, summary, and everything. 5-10 readings I would say and everything will be on tips. After that refer to coaching modules correctly and practice them. Practice questions from MTG Biology at your fingertips. NEET Chemistry NCERT is the key for Inorganic and organic especially. Revise inorganic on a daily basis, it is a scoring subject. Write down exceptions and reactions in a separate notebook. Do practice questions for organic and physical. Physics- Do refer to your coaching notes for theory and assigned modules for practice. Join the Mock test series in the last month. Solve NEET and JEE Main (for Physics and Chemistry), previous year test papers for better practice and try to go for the easiest approach for the questions. Be confident as you have recently appeared for boards so most of the concepts are fresh in mind.
Q:   How important is taking mock test to prepare for NEET?
A:

Mock tests are an important aspect of NEET preparation. Preparation will be incomplete without taking NEET mock tests. NEET 2026 mock test will give students exposure towards the exam structure. It will also help them understand their preparation level and mistakes to avoid. Students must get the performance analysed thoroughly by an expert or mentor. The analysis will provide insights about the areas of improvement, causes of mistakes, correct approach to attempt questions, time management, etc. The objective of the analysis is to provide an in-depth viewpoint on their performance.

Take ample mock tests: After completing the basic preparation, candidates should start taking NEET mock tests. After completing each section or subject, they should take sectional mock tests. Followed by this, they should start taking full-length mock tests at least three to four months before the exam. There are multiple advantages of taking mock tests. Not only does it test students’ preparation level but it also helps them get accustomed to the exam-taking experience. It is also important to get the mock tests analysed after each test by their mentors or seniors to know the scope of improvement.

Solve past years’ question papers: Solving previous year NEET question papers to get an idea of the types of questions that will be asked in the exam. Your speed to answer will improve since you will know the tricks that should be used for answering questions. Many questions are already available in previous year papers that can be add on. Alongwith that, you will know about the weightage of each topic more practically.

Prepare a test-taking strategy: Students start testing their knowledge by taking regular mock test. Start your practice with the strongest subject followed by weak subjects to get better at solving question papers. This will help you to manage time and answer properly on OMR sheet.

Time management: NEET is a time-bound exam where candidates have 200 questions and must attempt 180 questions in three hours. Without having a proper time management plan in time may be disastrous on the day of the exam. Hence, along with preparing a test-taking strategy, they should also focus on time management. Unless they plan a strategy to manage these three hours, test-takers may end up losing precious minutes and hamper their performance. According to experts, candidates should not spend more than two minutes on a question and in case they find it more time-consuming, they should leave it and move ahead. In case they have time, in the end, they should revisit the question and try to solve it. They should also leave some room for revision, as there are chances of silly mistakes which can mar their performance.

Focus on health and fitness: Candidates should excercise to maintain their physical fitness to keep yourself healthy. Do not take too much stress to maintain your mental health. If you will be mentally healthy, you can perform well in the exam.
