NEET 2023 Application Form, Registration Process

NEET 2023 application form was originally released by NTA on March 6. The last date to submit the form was April 6, 11.50 PM. A lot of candidates requested NTA to extend the last date of the application process or to reopen the NEET 2023 application form process. As a response to this, NTA announced the reopening of the NEET 2023 application window from April 11 to April 13, 11.59 PM. However, due to technical glitches, the registration link could not be activated till April 12 evening. Accordingly, NTA revised the NEET 2023 second phase application dates from April 12 to April 15, 11.30 PM. The application fee had to be paid by 11.59 PM. After the commencement of the NEET UG application process 2023, aspirants were wondering about the correct procedure to fill the application form for NEET 2023. Q:   When will NTA open the NEET 2026 application correction window?
A: 

NTA will open the NEET application correction window after the closing of registrations. The duration of NEET application correction will be three days. The application correction window is available only for candidates who will complete the NEET application process by paying the application fee.

Q:   Can I change my NEET exam centre after the application process?
A: 

The NEET exam centre can only be changed during the application correction window. No changes can be made after the last date of submission of the NEET application form or after the conclusion of the application correction process. Once NTA releases the advance intimation to exam city slip, candidates will be appraised of their NEET exam city. The city will be one of the two entered by candidates during the application process.

Q:   When did the NEET registration 2024 process conclude?
A: 

The NEET registration 2024 process was conducted for little over a month. Started on February 9, 2024, the date of concluding the NEET 2024 registration process was March 16, 2024. Although originally the last date of NEET 2024 registration was March 9, but was extended till March 16, 2024. NTA also reopened the application process from April 9 to April 10. Based on multiple candidate and stakeholders requests, NTA decided to extend and later reopen the NEET 2024 application process. 

Q:   How to correct the NEET application form?
A: 

NEET form correction process is given below-

  • Visit the NEET website and click on the Correction Window is Live link.
  • Click on the Existing Candidate Login and enter your Registration Number and Password and log in your application form. 
  • The application form will open on your computer screen. Click on the Correction tab and read the instructions.
  • Read the instructions and enter the OTP sent on your mobile number
  • Check each section and make necessary changes on the applicable fields
  • Verify the information and click on submit.

  • Click on the “Fill Registration Form” or the invitation for NEET UG 2023 Registration

  1. Candidate’s Name

  2. Mother’s name

  3. Father’s name

  4. Date of birth

  5. Category

  6. Gender

  7. Nationality

  8. Persons with Disability

  9. Identification Type

  10. Valid Government Identity Card Number

  11. Present Address

  12. Permanent Address

  13. Mobile number

  14. Email Id

After this, candidates had to review the information entered and can either edit the registration form or click on ‘Submit and Send OTP’. An OTP was sent to the registered mobile number which they had to enter. This generated the NEET Username and Password.

Factors to Select NEET 2023 Registration Password

While selecting the password, applicants should bear in mind the following factors:

  • The number of characters should be between 8 to 13

  • There should be at least one special character

  • There should be at least one uppercase character

  • There should be at least one lowercase character

  • There should be at least one numerical character

List of Security Questions for NEET 2023 Registration Form

While filling the NEET 2023 registration form, candidates had to select a Security Question and write the answer. The list of Security Questions is as follows:

  • Which is your favourite book?

  • Which is the website you rarely visit?

  • What is the name of your first school?

  • What is your neighbour's pet name?

  • What is the registration number of your first vehicle

Candidates were advised to select the most convenient question, the answer to which they can remember by heart.

The NTA NEET registration procedure is completely online. The process of NEET application is given below:

  • Visit the NEET website -neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on the Registration link.
  • Read all the instructions and register with personal details such as name, contact details, password, etc. to generate the application number and password.
  • Verify OTP received through SMS and email.

Contact Details

The Contact Details stage appeared as complete as the information was already provided during the NEET 2023 registration process. The next stage, i.e. the Personal Details was the next stage by default.

Personal Details

At this stage, the basic information is pre-filled from the registration form details submitted. The other information to be entered were as follows:

  • In case of female candidates, if she is the only child 

  • Select State/UT from where Class 12 or equivalent has been passed or appearing

  • Candidate Category

  • If PwD Category candidates have 40 per cent or more benchmark disability

  • If Candidate is Diabetic

  • Place of Residence

  • Annual Family Income

  • If Belongs to Minority

  • Country of Residence

  • Do you want to wear Customary Dress contrary to the Dress Code of NEET UG?

  • Mode of Preparation

  • Security Pin

Identification Details

Based on the valid Government Identification Number provided by candidates, which could be either Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card or Passport, they had to select any one of the given options:

  • I voluntarily agree to share my Government Identification Number and am aware that it will be used to establish my identity for the NEET by matching my personal identification details available.

  • My information in the Identity Card is not the same as that entered in the Application Form.

  • I am not willing to share my Government Identification Number.

Exam Medium and City Selection

The next stage was to select the NEET question paper medium and exam centre city. Based on the language of the exam opted by students along with their address, candidates had to choose four states and cities in terms of their preference. On the same page, they had to enter their parents’ occupations and qualifications from the drop-down menu. This is followed by entering the Security Pin and clicking on ‘Save and Next’.

Educational Details

In this stage NEET 2023 application form, candidates had to fill up a section about their Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12 educational details and qualifications. The mandatory details or information that needed to be entered in the form were as follows:

  • Pass status

  • Year of Pass/Appearing

  • Qualifying exam

  • Place of schooling

  • Type of School/College

  • Qualifying Examination State

  • Qualifying Examination District

  • School Board

  • Result Mode

  • Roll Number

  • School/College name and address

  • Subjects 

  • Obtained and total marks and Aggregate/CGPA

Additional Details

The additional information to be filled in the NEET application form are as follows:

  • Did you ever appear in NEET (UG) examination?

  • Place of birth (country)

  • State and district of birth

The last date of application form submission was originally April 13, 11.59 PM. As per reports, over 21 lakh candidates have applied for the exam till April 6. The number is expected to go even higher after April 15.

No, Punjabi University, Patiala are not decided based on NEET-UG score. Punjabi University, Patiala has only mentioned accepting scores of its ownin-house entrance exam to select candidates for BPharm courses.
