The NEET counselling registration 2021 for Mop-up round has concluded on March 19. The process had started on March 10 and the last date to register for the third and second-last round of NEET 2021 counselling was March 14. It was first extended till March 16 and again till March 19. With the extension of the registration, choice filling and locking processes of the mop-up round, the other events such as the release of seat allotment results and institute reporting have also been postponed. MCC has released the updated schedule.

The NEET 2021 counselling registration process was completely online. Candidates eligible to apply for the Mop-up round of NEET 2021 counselling had to register online by visiting the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the body which is conducting the NEET counselling 2021 on behalf of DGHS. MCC had announced the NEET UG counselling 2021 dates on January 13, a week after the Supreme Court of India upheld the OBC and EWS reservation order in a hearing dated January 7.  This year. there will be four rounds of NEET counselling, which are - Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round and Online Stray Vacancy Round. While candidates can register for the first three rounds, they will not be allowed to register in the fourth and final round of the NEET counselling 2021 process. Who Will Be Eligible for NEET Counselling 2021 Mop-up Registration

Here are the eligibility criteria for the Mop-up registration process of NEET 2021 counselling:

  • Candidates who did not get a seat in the second allotment round.
  • Candidates who secured a seat under reserved quota and whose second round of allotted seats gets cancelled during the document verification on reporting for admission. 
  • Candidates who had reported at the allotted institute during the second round of allotment and submitted willingness for mop-up round up-gradation as Yes.

NEET Counselling Registration 2021 Process

The registration process for the NEET counselling 2021 are as follows:

  • Candidates have to visit the official website of MCC – mcc.nic.in or directly enter the link - https://mcc.nic.in/Counseling/Registration/Verification.aspx

  • Click on the tab indicating NEET UG Counselling followed by the ‘Online Registration’ tab.

  • Enter details such as name, registration number, personal details, academic details and the details mentioned on their NEET result.

  • Pay the NEET 2021 registration fee through debit/credit card/net banking/UPI modes.

The four rounds of NEET 2021 counselling for the AIQ seats are given below:

1. AIQ Round 1

3. AIQ Mop-up Round

4. AIQ Stray Vacancy Round

NEET Counselling Choice Filling Process

The next step after the NEET counselling registration process 2021 is the choice filling round. In this step, you have to select your choice of medical college and seats according to your category and seat criteria. The choice filling process is as follows:

  • Log in to the MCC portal with your registration credentials

  • Choose the course/ college in the desired order of preference

  • There is no limit in selecting the choices from the list provided

  • You may add or delete a choice

  • You may move up or move down a choice as per your preference

  • After filling in the choices you have to save a copy of the choices filled for future reference

After this round, MCC will release the seat allotment order and this will be followed by seat acceptance or withdrawal, depending on whether the allotted seats are as per your choice or not.

Changes Introduced in NEET Counselling 2021 Process

Following are the changes introduced in the NEET 2021 counselling process by MCC:

  • Four rounds of NEET counselling will be inducted for AIQ seats.
  • The seats which were earlier reverted back to the respective states after the completion of the Round 2 of AIQ will be continued to be filled in the AIQ Mop-up round and Stray-vacancy round in online mode. 
  • Fresh NEET counselling registrations can be done in the first three rounds only and not in the final round.
  • Seat up-gradation and free exit options will be available in the first round of NEET counselling 2021 only.
  • Candidates accepting allotted seats in Round 2 and further rounds of counselling will not be allowed to resign. They will also not be eligible to take part in further rounds of NEET 2021 counselling.
  • Candidates who would not accept the allotted seats in Round 2 will be eligible to participate in further rounds of NEET counselling subject to forfeiture of the security deposit and fresh registration, only in the mop-up round.
