IIT Kanpur and ICICI Foundation Partner for UP Digital Health Stack Initiative

IIT Kanpur and ICICI Foundation have signed a MoU to collaborate on a Digital Health Stack project, aimed at enhancing and strengthening healthcare. Know details here
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has partnered with the ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth (ICICI Foundation), the CSR arm of ICICI Bank, through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to develop a Digital Health Stack to enhance and fortify healthcare services. Initially, the Stack will be implemented within the public healthcare system in Uttar Pradesh. The ICICI Foundation will provide substantial financial support over several years to sustain this initiative.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Prof. J. Ramkumar, Acting Dean of Resources and Alumni at IIT Kanpur, and Sanjay Datta, President of the ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, in the presence of senior officials from ICICI Foundation and distinguished professors from IIT Kanpur. Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, virtually graced the ceremony with his presence.
The Digital Health Stack aims to revolutionise public healthcare by integrating technology, medical research, and innovation. This project will focus on developing MedTech devices, enhancing point-of-care (POC) services, and bolstering the overall capacity of the public healthcare system. Additionally, AI-powered devices will aid in the early detection of chronic diseases. The project will be based at the IIT Kanpur campus.
Prof Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, said, “With the core expertise in Artificial Intelligence & Machine learning and thriving MedTech ecosystem, the Institute is well poised to provide necessary technological support to the mission of developing the Digital Health Stack.
