IIT Kanpur Partners with Citadel Securities

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) and Citadel Securities have joined forces to establish the "Translational and Transformative Training and Investigations Lab" (T3i Lab) within IITK's Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Supported by a Citadel Securities CSR grant, this initiative aims to enhance access to world-class technical and computing education, reinforcing the firm's commitment to advancing global learning opportunities.

Translational and Transformative Training and Investigations Lab

The T3i Lab will offer students access to state-of-the-art research facilities and high-performance Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), a valuable yet scarce resource in India. The lab will drive advancements in High-Performance Computing, Data Science, Data Visualisation, Translational AI, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Systems. Additionally, it will foster innovation in Computer Architecture Design and Hardware Security, empowering IITK and its students to remain at the forefront of cutting-edge research and development in these vital fields.

Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, states, “The establishment of the advanced GPU Lab at IIT Kanpur through this partnership will significantly boost our research and innovation ecosystem by enabling our students and faculty to pursue solutions with far-reaching impact. Every hostel has a basketball court, few badminton courts, a volleyball court, table tennis room, a television room, a computer room, a reading room for newspaper, magazines, journals, etc., and a hall office to handle hostel affairs.

Q:   Is there a provision of pursuing an integrated BTech degree at IIT Kanpur?
A:

Yes, IIT Kanpur also offers an option of a dual degree, i.e., Bachelors-Masters Dual Degree to the students. A student earns both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree at the end of this five-year course. The dual degree programme has three categories:

  • Category A: In this case, both degrees are in the same discipline/department. Example: BTech-M Tech.
  • Category B: This is a two-discipline/ department programme where the bachelor’s degree is in the parent discipline/ department and the master’s degree is in a different discipline/ department. Thus, three combinations are possible in this category, ex: BTech-M Tech, BTech-MS and BTech-MDes. Students can choose any one of the aforementioned combinations. 
  • Category C: In this case, the bachelor’s degree is in the parent discipline/ department and the master’s degree is MBA. Ex: BTech-MBA.
