IIT Roorkee's Energy Conclave: Uniting Minds for Electric Vehicles and Renewable Power

IIT Roorkee is hosting the 2nd International Meeting on Energy Storage Devices 2023 alongside an Industry-Academia Conclave. Over 600 participants from India and overseas, this event promises to be a pioneering milestone in advancing energy storage devices and their diverse applications, spanning renewable energy. 

IIT Roorkee's Energy Conclave

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, in collaboration with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is hosting the 2nd International Meeting on Energy Storage Devices (IMESD) 2023 and an Industry-Academia Conclave. Scheduled from December 7 to 10, 2023, this event brings together over 600 participants from India and around the globe. 

IIT Roorkee's IMESD 2023 conference aims to bring together global experts in energy storage devices, fostering interdisciplinary discussions and collaborations. The conference focuses on unifying diverse energy storage technologies, exploring recent trends, and charting future research directions.

The four-day conference includes parallel symposia covering topics such as lithium-ion batteries, beyond Li-ion batteries, supercapacitors, hydrogen economy, and system design and integration. Speakers from the USA, UK, Singapore, Sweden, France, UAE, and top officials from Indian institutes will share advancements, fostering a dynamic knowledge exchange. Highlighting the event is the Defense-Industry-Academia Conclave on December 8th, 2023. 

The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Padma Bhushan Dr. V. K. Saraswat, Honorable Member of NITI Aayog, alongside Prof. KK Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, and Prof. B. V. R. Chowdari (BVRC) from MRS-Singapore. Eminent scientists in the field of energy storage, including Prof. Arumugam Manthiram from the University of Texas, Prof. Satishchandra Ogale, Director of RISE at TCG Crest, Prof. Ram B. Gupta from Virginia Commonwealth University, and Prof. Dominique Guyomard from the Jean Rouxel Institute of Materials in Nantes, graced the inaugural ceremony.
