Yes, candidates belonging to different categories and domiciles will get the benefit of reservation during their counselling process.

Candidates will have to bring the following documents while attending the MH CET Law counselling process: 

• MH CET 5 Year LLB 2025 Scorecard

• Class 10 & 12 Mark Sheets

• Domicile Certificate (if applicable)

• Caste Certificate (if applicable)

• Nationality Certificate

• Photo ID Proof

• Passport-size Photographs

MAH CET Cell will prepare a different list for candidates belonging to different categories as follows:

• Maharashtra State (MS) candidature type
• Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) or All India category candidature type
• Foreign Nationals
• Non Resident Indians (NRI) / Overseas Indian Citizen (OIC) / Person of Indian Origin (PIO) candidature type
• Minority category candidature type
• Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) candidature type
• Ex-servicemen (wards' of ex-servicemen or defence force members) candidature type

Candidates will not receive their MH CET Law scores or results either through email or SMS. The results and scorecards will only be checked online through the candidate's portal.

The seats offered through MH CET Law 5 year LLB are around 10,920 divided among all the participating colleges. However, for MH CET 3 year LLB, around 16, 240 seats are offered in different colleges accepting MH CET Law scores.

In situations where candidates will secure equal number of marks, tie-breaking criteria will be used to resolve the ranks in merit list.

There are no criterias set for the minimum qualifying marks in the MH CET Law 5-year exam. The merit list will be prepared based on the qualifying and entrance exam marks in a 50:50 proportion.

In a case where candidates secure the same rank or marks, the following method of tie-breaking is applied:

• Candidates with a higher percentage of marks in Class 12 or equivalent exam are given preference in the merit list
• Candidates securing higher percentage of marks in the first language in Class 12
• Candidates with a high percentage of marks in Class 10
• A higher percentage of marks in English in Class 10 or equivalent exam

Candidates will have to login to the portal to check the result using the following credentials:

• Password created during the registration

The MAH exam authority will also release the toppers list for the MH CET 5-year LLB exam along with the scorecard. The names of candidates securing top ranks will be published in the topper's document.

The total number of students who appeared for the MH CET 5-year LLB exam has not yet been released. However, as per the previous year's trends, it is expected that around 25,000 to 35,000 students might have appeared for the exam.

Candidates who appeared in the MH CET Law exam can appear for the counselling process regardless of their scores/percentiles. The colleges ot the candidates will be allotted as per their preference and cut off list.

During the MH CET 5 year LLB counselling process, candidates will be able to select the college for admission as per their preference. Candidates will be alloted college based on the rank and marks obtained during the MH CET Law 2025 exam. 

MH CET Law 5-year LLB result will be prepared after applying a normalization method to the scores of candidates. It is due to the difference in difficulty of shifts during the exam. The purpose is that no candidate should be benefited or be disadvantaged due to a difference in the level of the exam. 

The MH CET Law 2025 merit list is prepared considering the Class 12 marks and MH CET 5 year LLB scores equally. 

The score of MH CET 5 year LLB will only be valid for admission to the 2025-26 session. 

Candidates can apply for around 3 to 5 colleges in the order of their preference during the MH CET Law 2025 CAP counselling registration process.

Below given are other reservations provided during the MH CET Law 2025 admission:

• 5% of the MS quota seats for candidates with at least 40% impairment. 
• 10% of seats EWS applicants would be given preference over the Maharashtra State Quota for Institute/College admission. 
• 1% of the seats (excluding Minority Institutions and All India Seats, if any) will be designated for Orphan Candidates.
• 30% of the seats will be reserved for female candidates.
• There will be no reservation for female applicants in the Defense, Persons with Disabilities, and Orphan categories.

5% seats in an MS quota-approved institution will be set aside for the following groups of applicants:

• Children of former military personnel residing in the state of Maharashtra (Def-1).
• Children of Active Duty Military Personnel living in the State of Maharashtra (Def-2).
• Children of Active Service Personnel who have moved to Maharashtra but do not reside in the state (DEF-3). 
• Children who have families stationed under the family housing retention policy at their previous duty station for the benefit of the kids’ education; only possible if the applicant has completed the HSC (12th class) and SSC (10th class) exams from a Maharashtra school or college.

Only applicants from Maharashtra State would be eligible for the reservation for backward category candidates from various socioeconomic categories.

 For applicants from outside Maharashtra, there are no MH CET law seats available under this category.

Number of seats reserved in aided and Govt. institutions accepting MH CET Law scores:

Candidates not belonging to the Maharashtra State can also get admission to the colleges accepting MH CET scores. However, their cut off will be different with respect to those who belong to the Maharashtra State.

The Maharashtra State domicile certificate proves of the residence of the candidate and the MH state candidates are preferred during the admission process. So if students have their Maharashtra State Certificate, do not forget to mention and attach the same during the counselling process.
