Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the 17th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on August 20, 2023. The CTET 2023 Paper 1 was held from 9.30 am to 12.00 noon and Paper 2 from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm. Candidates who appeared for the exam shared that the overall difficulty level of the CTET 2023 Paper 1 was 'Moderate'. The CTET 2023 Paper 1 comprises a total of 150 MCQs of one mark each. A total of 30 MCQs are asked from each section- Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and EVS.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of CTET exam?
A:
The CTET exam is generally easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level. The difficulty level depends on the nature of the questions asked in the exam. The CTET exam is conducted for two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper carries 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each. Out of the total 150 marks, 90 marks are considered qualifying for the General category and 82 are considered qualifying or CTET cut-off for Reserved categories such as SC/ ST/ OBC.
Q:   How can I prepare to pass CTET in science stream?

CTET exam pattern is such that aspirants need to attempt 150 multiple choice questions in two and a half hours duration. Informing about CTET Paper-I pattern, the official website informs: The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning. CTET Paper-II pattern is such that, the test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning. Q:   How can I prepare for the CTET exam in 10 days?
A:
Candidates can prepare for CTET in 10 days, given that they devote each and every minute towards the exam preparation. Firstly, understand the CTET exam pattern and syllabus well. Spend more time on topics that you are less confident with. Attempt at least two CTET question papers daily in the last one week of the exam.

As per the CTET Dec 2024 result PDF, over 2.7 lakh candidates qualifed the exam. As per the CTET result 2024 of the July session, over 2 lakh candidates cleared the exam. The number of qualified and non-qualified candidates in CTET 2024 exam was available after the declaration of results. The number of qualified candidates were announced by the CBSE in the result PDF. The CTET result is declared based on the qualification criteria that is the minimum qualifying marks.

Q:   I want to crack CTET so that I can teach 1st to 5th class. Is it compulsory to give both TET and CTET?
A:
If you need to secure a job in KVS or any central government school like DSSSB then you need to qualify CTET Exam. However, the TET exams are conducted by the state government of the particular state. Through TET, candidates can secure teaching jobs in government schools run by state governments only.

Yes, you can apply for CTET Paper 1 only if you make sure that you meet the minimum teacher education requirement for Classes 1 to 5.

The major difference between CTET and UPTET is that when candidates clear the CTET exam, it provides a national-level eligibility certificate that can be used across India, whereas clearing the UPTET exam provides a state-level eligibility certificate that is only valid within Uttar Pradesh state.
