CTET Exam Analysis 2024 Paper 1 (14 Dec)

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the 20th edition of the CTET 2024 exam on December 14, 2024. The CTET exam was held in two shifts for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 shift was conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. The CTET exam analysis 2024 is provided here based on student reactions. Q:   Which subject holds maximum weightage in CTET exam?
A: 
Almost all the sections of the CTET exam hold equal weightage. In CTET Paper 1, all subjects including Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies hold equal weightage. However, in CTET Paper 2, the Mathematics & Science and Social Studies/Social Science section holds maximum weightage of 60 marks.

The CTET exam is generally easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level. The difficulty level depends on the nature of the questions asked in the exam. 

Q:   What is a good score in CTET?
A: 

Candidates who get more than 60 per cent marks in the CTET are good scorers. Those who manage to get over 130 marks are considered as high scorers in the Central Teaching Eligibility Test.

Q:   Is coaching necessary for the CTET exam?

No, coaching is not necessary for the CTET exam. Candidates can prepare well through self studies. One needs to cover the syllabus, solve previous year question papers and mock tests to clear the exam.

According to the NCTE notification, candidates require 60% or more to pass the CTET examination. The minimum marks required by a candidate being a General category to qualify the CTET exam is 90 out of 150 and for SC, ST, OBC and PwD is 82 out of 150.
