aAligarh Muslim University conducts the AMU entrance exam for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The exam is held in offline mode across selected cities in India. The pattern of the entrance exam varied from course to course. Based on the marks of the candidates in the AMU entrance test, a merit list for admission will be drawn. Counselling will be conducted based on merit, and seats are granted for admission in various courses.

The AMU entrance exam 2026 for the BA LLB program included 100 objective-type questions on English, current affairs, general knowledge, reasoning, and aptitude. The exam was held in Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh), Kolkata (West Bengal), and Kozhikode (Kerala). 

The institute, however, accepts the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) 2026 for admissions to BA (Hons.), BSc (Hons.), and BVoc courses. The application process for AMU BA LLB 2026 has begun. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria for the BA LLB program can apply online at amucontrollerexams.com. Note that the direct application link will be updated on this page.

The step-wise process to apply for the AMU BA LLB application form is as follows:

1. Sign up with details like name, mobile number, email ID, date of birth, etc
2. Log in using your email and password.
3. Single Registration is sufficient for applying to multiple courses by a candidate.
4. Before filling the application form, candidates must have the following ready.

• Scanned copy of colored Photo with white background, Signature, and Thumb Impression (Left Hand Thumb Impression for every candidate) of the candidate in JPG format only. The file size of each should be less than 200 KB.
• Email address and mobile number.
• Online Banking details/Debit Card/Credit Card.
• Details of the qualifying examination

Application fee: Candidates can pay the application fee in online mode through net banking/ debit card/ credit card. The fee varies from course to course and ranges from INR 450 to INR 850.

The admission process of Aligarh Muslim University is as follows

• Online application Candidates can fill and submit the application form for the AMU entrance exam OR CUET exam in online mode at the website of amucontrollerexams.com or cuet.samarth.ac.in, respectively. The candidates also have to pay the application fee as per their courses.  
• Issuing admit card AMU or NTA will issue the admit cards to candidates who are registered and submitted the application form before the last date. The admit card of AMUEE or CUET mentioned details about the examination, candidates and the allotted test centre name and location.
• Appearing for the test Candidates have to appear for the examination at the allotted test centre as per the examination schedule.
• Announcement of results The University will declare the results for the AMU entrance exam for each course separately. The results will be made available in the form of a merit list of qualified candidates as well as waitlisted candidates. Candidates will be able to check results on the official website by logging in.
• Counselling process AMU is conducting the counselling process for each course based on merit lists and waitlists. The candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria, qualifying criteria, and other requirements will be allotted seats.

The AMU entrance exam pattern varies from course to course. However, all the admission tests and the departmental admission tests will be held in offline mode only. Candidates have to take the exams on OMR sheets. The medium of all tests is English, except where a question paper is set in a language other than English.

Negative Marking: Incorrect answers resulted in a negative score of 25 percent of the marks allotted to the question. For each correct answer candidate will be awarded one mark, and for each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. However, the provision of negative marking is not applicable in the admission tests of PhD and vocational courses underthe  Community College.

Aligarh Muslim University will release the AMU BA LLB Entrance Exam admit card online. The admit cards will be made available under the respective login of the candidates on the official website. Admit cards for the AMU entrance exam 2026 will not be sent by post. 

AMU issues the admit card to appear in the admission / departmental test only to those candidates whose application form, complete in all respects, has been submitted successfully on the Controller’s website on or before the last date of filling. Candidates have to paste their recent passport-size color photograph in the space provided on the downloaded admit card. The photo has to be the same as the one affixed on the application form.

To download the AMU Entrance Exam Admit Card for the BA LLB course, candidates have to follow the given process.

• Visit amucontrollerexams.com.
• Log in to the AMU EE 2026 candidates' portal using the required credentials.
• Click on the AMU Admit Card 2026 download link.
• The AMU BA LLB Hall ticket will appear on the screen.
• Download and take a printout.
