DTU Delhi Highlights 2026
Formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), Delhi Technological University (DTU) is ISO-certified. DTU offers 21 undergraduate, 36 postgraduate and PhD programs in the streams of Science, Engineering, Management, Architecture, etc. It has 6 centres and 18 academic departments. DTU NAAC Grade is 'A+ ', with a CGPA of 3.47. Some of the key highlights of the Delhi College of Engineering are mentioned below:
- Ranking: DTU has been ranked in the 700s band in the Asian University Rankings 2026. As per the NIRF Ranking 2025, the University has been ranked 62nd in the 'overall' category. In the 'University' category, it was ranked 42nd, while in the 'Engineering' category, it was ranked 30th.

DTU Delhi Cut off 2026
DTU cutoff 2026 has been released for BTech admission. Students are admitted to the BTech course based on valid JEE Main entrance exam scores, followed by JAC Delhi counselling. The Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi releases the JAC Delhi cutoff in the form of opening and closing ranks. For 2026, four regular and one spot round seat allotment will be released. - During the DTU cutoff 2026 for BTech, the JEE Main Round 4 closing ranks varied from 7060 to 25303 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. For the same category, the cutoff ranged between 14806 and 88822 under the HS quota. As per the Round 4 admissions, CSE was the most sought-after BTech specialisation for admission for the General category under both AI and HS quotas.
- DTU University MBA cutoff 2026 has been released for the third round. CMAC released the cutoff list based on CAT/ MAT/ Graduation percentage, with one year of experience to shortlist the candidates for admission. As per the third round, the cutoff rank is 149 for students belonging to the General AI category.

Yes, it is possible. While DTU accepts CAT/ MAT or CMAT scores for admission to two of the MBA programmes. While admission to MBA in Family Business & Entrepreneurship and MBA in Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Venture Development depends on the candidates' performance at the undergraduate level and in the interview conducted by the university campus.
For the remaining MBA courses, performance in CAT/ MAT or CMAT is considered along with students' performance in the last qualifying degree and interview conducted at the university-level. Also, all the candidates must complete the eligibility for admission:
- Must have completed a UG degree with a score of 60% (50% for reserved categories)
- Those in the final year can also apply with a proof of eligibility
No, candidates cannot get admission to DTU without appearing for JEE Main as the DTU BTech counselling is done through JAC Delhi. The basic criteria for admission to BTech is appearing for JEE Mains. To get into DTU, candidates must score decent marks or at least around 220 or above marks in JEE Mains. The only way to get into DTU without appearing for JEE Main is by taking a lateral entry admission to BTech second year. In order to do this, candidates must complete a Polytechnic course of two years and then appear for an entrance exam (not JEE Main but this exam will give you entry in DTU's second year.
Admission to the BBA programme at DTU is subject to a merit list drawn on the basis of scores obtained by the students in best of four subjects of Class 12. Students, however, must have completed their Class 12 with 50% aggregate (with English as a subject) to be eligible for the course. Additionally, those appearing in the final exams of their Class 12 can also apply provided they can submit the proof of eligibility as per the date set by the university. Hence, yes, it is possible to get into DTU with 85% in Class 12 provided a student is shortlisted while creation of the merit list.
For 2026, four regular and one spot round seat allotment will be released for DTU admission to the BTech course. The cutoffs are decided following the below-mentioned factors, including JEE Main score, category and the number of seats available for the course.

If we talk about the reviews, DTU is better than NSIT. Students have shown great interest in the DTU placements and quality of education over the years. Whereas, NSIT is also gaining popularity among the students. Which is better or best depends on the student's preference.
DTU is indeed a great college for engineering, specially B.Tech. Since it takes students through JEE Mains, the quality of students is also very good.
Being a very old government college, it has gained immense recognition as well. Syllabus is a bit outdated. The subjects in the first year are common for all, irrespective of branches. Classes are held regularly, though there are bunks as well during exams, fests etc.
The professors are well educated, most of them have done PhD. Some of the teachers are good, interesting while some make the subject very boring and dull. Some of them would just copy the things from the book without actually making the students understand. I would advice to be regular in class and always stay in touch with the syllabus. The study during engineering is comparatively easier than that during JEE and so one can easily cope up.
DTU is not just great in terms of academics or placements, but the fests and societies also help a student to develop as an individual. It makes you a much better person rather than just a bookish engineer.

No, candidates cannot apply for direct admissions for BBA at Delhi Technological University. Admissions are based on CUET_UG scores which are looked at by CMAC when shortlisting candidates for BBA admissions.
