IIT Bombay admission process is a multi-step process. Candidates have to first apply for a UG or PG programme.Candidates need to apply on the official website of exam conducting body for a few courses.
Step 1: IIT Bombay Application Process 2025
Students interested in getting admission to IIT Bombay can submit the online application form for the course-specific entrance exam or college, depending on the course they wish to get into.

Step 2: IIT Bombay University Selection Criteria & Release of Merit List
After completion of the registration process, applicants need to go through the course-based entrance exam followed by other selection rounds (if applicable). Candidates must score equal or above IIT Bombay cutoff in the accepted entrance exam for admission. After the selection rounds are completed, they need to go through the course-wise counselling process for final seat allocation. For BDes admission, aspirants need to pass UCEED exam. IIT Bombay admission to all the courses is entrance-based (Except for EMBA, where admission is merit-based and performance in the interview round). IIT Bombay MDes Admission 2025
IIT Bombay offers an MDes course for a duration of two years spread across four semesters. The institute offers MDes through the Industrial Design Centre in Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Animation, Mobility & Vehicle Design and Interaction Design. Yes, IIT Bombay conducts Common Entrance Exam for Design or CEED for admission to MDes programme. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted in online mode. It is a three-hour exam conducted once in a year. Candidates shortlisted based on CEED rank have to also appear for IDC written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted aspirants are further require to come for an interview round for final selection.
The total tuition fee for IIT Bombay MDes is INR 1 Lacs as per an unofficial source. Students belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD category or a child of institution staff are exempted from paying the tuition fee. There is a concessional and a non-concessional fee for candidates belonging to General/ EWS/ OBC-NCL category. The concessional is offered on tuition fee. Step 1: Registration
Candidates need to apply online for BDes course with an application fee of INR 3,800 for open and INR 1,900 for reserved category. The common application form will be available through the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal.
Step 2: Selection
The selection to BDes course is based on UCEED rank. A merit list is prepared based on UCEED rank of the candidates.
Step 3: Counselling

IIT Bombay offers CSE in both BTech and MTech programme. As the question does not mentions the course, the answer talks about both the course.
