NIOS 10th Question Paper 2026: Download NIOS Class 10 Previous Year Question Papers PDF

 NIOS 10th theory exam 2026 is being held from April 10 to May 6, 2026.. The board released the NIOS date sheet 2026 on the official website - nios.ac.in March 2026. 

Students should score 33% of the total marks for passing the NIOS Class 10 exam. For 10th and 12th, you need to score a minimum of 33% in the aggregate in the practical and theory exams.

The grading of subjects is made of two parts, Tutor Marked Assignments, or TMAs and the final examinations. For subjects without practicals, such as the Group A subjects, TMAs account for 20% of the grade. The final exam for most subjects will be for 3 hours. However, a few subjects, such as Home Science, have an exam duration of 2.5 hours. Students should refer to the NIOS exam pattern before starting the preparation for the NIOS 10th exams. This will help them to know the marking scheme. Thus students can prepare accordingly.

NIOS releases the previous year question papers on the official website nios.ac.in/. Students can visit the NIOS website to download the NIOS previous year question papers. Click on the student information section. Then select the Question Paper of Previous year Examination-Academic. Download and save the required NIOS previous year question papers.

Making a study schedule helps in covering each subject and the important topics. Students can attend tuition classes. Solving previous years’ NIOS 10th question papers prepares the students in completing the paper on time. Make notes while learning diagrams, formulae and important points. It helps in learning faster and notes come handy in revision. Students must follow their study plan and keep themselves motivated. They must cover the entire syllabus thoroughly and also the NIOS 10th exam pattern. 

You should have thorough knowledge of the text books. Through hard work and proper learning, one can clear all the subjects. Make short notes of every chapter with important formulas and points. Solving the previous year NIOS question papers will also help to clear the NIOS exam. Write and practice problems in Mathematics and Science. If a student is unable to clear the NIOS 10th exams, then they can appear for the exams in the same year. This is under the NIOS On-Demand Examination System. Students need not worry even if they fail for the NIOS exam. NIOS provides chance for the student to appear for the subjects that they failed during the on-demand examination. With proper preparation, they can easily clear the exam.

Students can appear for the 10th grade board exam even if they are not going to school. Students can opt for open school (NIOS) and study from home. Thus they can appear for NIOS 10th board exams. Another option is private registration. Students can register as private candidates and appear for board exams.  

NIOS 10th Result range from A to E. A grade is given for 80% and above. Grade B is given for 60% to 79%. C Grade is given for 40% to 59%. D Grade is given for 33% to 39%. E Grade is given for below 33%.

Students are advised to go through the NIOS 12th syllabus. This will help them to get an idea on the topics to be learned. It will also help them to know the marking scheme.  Understanding the syllabus helps students to boost the preparation. Knowing the NIOS syllabus helps students to know what to learn and what not to. Thus they can save time by learning only the required topics. 

TMA is for 20 marks. TMA is applicable for admission through stream–I of online. These should be submitted before appearing in the Public Examination of the particular subject. The Tutor Marked Assignment at Secondary level will carry 20% weightage of theory part in the external examination. These marks will be shown separately in the marks sheet along with the external examination paper.
