WBBSE - West Bengal Board of Secondary Education
The WB Madhyamik 2020 will commence from February 18 and conclude on February 27. Read all the details below.
The West Bengal government conducts Class X and Class XII board exams through two different education bodies. While Class X board exams, also known as Madhyamik Pariksha, are conducted by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE), Class 12th Board Exams are held by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE). Class XII board exams are also called Uchcha Madhyamik Pariksha. Both WBBSE and WBCHSE are West Bengal state government’s administered autonomous examining authority for the respective exams.
Currently, Professor Dr.Kalyanmoy Ganguly is the administrator and Paromita Roy, the Secretary in-charge of WBBSE.
According to latest information, the question paper for Madhyamik examination (Class X) will be opened in front of Class 10 students before the exam starts. Earlier, the seal was broken in the office of the institution’s headmaster and the papers were sorted accordingly before distribution of the same in the exam hall. The idea is to bring in transparency in the distribution of the question papers.

- First Languages papers are Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Modern Tibetan, Nepali, Odia, Gurmukhi (Punjabi), Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Santali.
- Second languages are English -- if any language other than English is offered as First Language -- and Bengali or Nepali, if English is the First Language.
