
Army Institute of Law (AIL) will conduct the AIL LET 2026 exam tentatively in May 2026. The exam will be conducted for admission to BA LLB and BCom LLB courses. There are around 120 seats for BA LLB (Hons.) course and 60 seats for the BCom LLB course at the AIL. The application process for the exam will be conducted online on the AIL official website. Once the exam is over, the AIL will release the answer key and the AIL LET 2026 Result. The successful candidates will then be called for the counselling process for admission to these courses.
Candidates looking to take admission to the LLM courses at the Institute can also apply for the course. The institute offers around 15 seats for the PG in Law course. What is AIL LET?
AIL LET, Law Entrance Test (LET) is an institute-level test conducted by the Army Institute of Law (AIL), Mohali, for admissions to BA LLB & BCom courses. The entrance test consists of a paper with 4 sections for a duration of two hours.
The question paper of AIL LET has objective-type questions of a standard expected of 10+2 students. The questions in the exam are asked from Mental Ability, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Law Aptitude and General English. The AIL LET exam will be held for the total of 200 marks, and each question is awarded 1 mark, however, there is no negative marking for the wrong attempt.
Through AIL LET, as many as 120 BA LLB seats are offered including 86 for wards of Army Personnel, 24 for Punjab Resident Civil Category, 03 seats are available IAF category, 01 for IN, & 06 seats for all India category candidates.

AIL LET Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates seeking admission to BA LLB course at the Army Institute of Law should fulfil the AIL LET eligibility criteria 2026 as under:
- Candidates passed or are appearing in Class 12th or equivalent examination from the Punjab School Education Board or any other state or national board of education in India.
- They must have secured at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
