It has excellent placements in 2022.

Placements: Almost 95% of students got placed or went for higher studies in our year. The highest package was approximately 80 LPA, the lowest was approximately 5 LPA, and the average was around 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Google, Uber, Microsoft, KLA Tencor, GS, JPMC, MTX, etc. Top roles offered were SWE, SDE, QA, MLE, etc.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good and it has undergone a massive upgrade. Free Wi-Fi was available in most locations, and it was fast. Labs were well-equipped, and classrooms were also good enough. The library was world-class, and you couldn't finish even 1% of the information available there in your term.

Faculty: Most professors were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They were able to clear our doubts quickly. Most of them were good. The course curriculum was a little outdated for the code portion, but it was modern enough.

Other: I chose the course out of self-interest. The best thing is the freedom of choice, with a lot of free credits offered to explore your interests in an exhaustive manner. They need to work on pedantic professors who don't give grades.

It has a great campus life, and you can study based on your interest.

Placements: More than 90% of the students get placed from college. Salary packages vary based on profile. Software engineers get high packages compared to those who go for core profiles. TI, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft are the top recruiters. Mostly we have software companies than core companies. More than 80% of the students get internships in many companies. Role offered is as a software engineer.

Infrastructure: Everything is available in great condition. We have high-speed Wi-Fi at many places and library if you want to sit peacefully and study. There are also shops for food and juices including Cafe Coffee Day. Food served can be adjusted. Rest everything is great on campus.

Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified but they focus less on whether students are learning or not. But if we ask any doubt or approach them, they are helpful. There is a curriculum, but mostly we can take courses on our interests. Students can get industry-ready if they want to. Semester exams are easy and the pass percentage is above 90%.

I would recommend IIT Madras as the best destination if engineering is the passion you have.

Placements: Placements are really great and our college managed it very well. Almost 80% of the students got placed. Google Microsoft, TI, GE, Tata motors are some of the top core companies that visited the campus. The placements are not limited to core areas but also non core areas ranging from finance to consultancy.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for us were of top class. The lab facilities are accessible 24x7 to enable research work, Hostels are equipped with all necessary facilities to ensure a comfortable stay. The mess food is hygienic and canteens are also available as an option.

Faculty: The teachers were highly qualified and did teach well. We had the choice to choose our courses from lot of relevant courses. Curriculum is designed to be highly challenging and makes you brainstorm preparing one for industry. They try to get best out the students.

Unparalleled college experience in India.

Placements: I did not sit in placements since I wanted to pursue entrepreneurship. Most students got placed during placements and got pretty satisfactory placements. I think the average for our class was around 11-12 Lacs per annum CTC. Around 10% of students opted out for higher studies.

Infrastructure: Facilities are the best in the country. All labs were well-equipped. There was unlimited internet connectivity in hostels and departments. Most of the campus has Wi-Fi now. Hostels can be better in terms of room size and cleanliness of bathrooms. Mess food is average.

Faculty: Professors are very knowledgeable. But most professors are not good teachers and make topics unnecessarily complex. The students are smart enough to learn from books. The curriculum is quite deep. You will receive help if you ask for it. IIT gives you anything if you ask the right people.

Best Institute in India for Engineering.

Placements: The highest salary was 1.4 crores INR which was offered by Microsoft, Redmond to 5 students from the CS department. The average salary was around 10 Lacs INR. A lot of the companies look for Software Engineering and Machine Learning skills in the student.

Infrastructure: All Classrooms are equipped with a projector and a Public-Address system. Most of the classroom are not air conditioned. Library is fully air conditioned and will be open till 12 in the night on weekdays and till 5 in the evening on weekends. Fully functioning Hospital present in the campus. Sports facilities are available for all the popular sports. Students can use the facilities free of cost.

Faculty: All the faculty are very well qualified and they all hold a Ph.D. They are all leading experts in their respective fields. More than half of the faculty are very enthusiastic about teaching and make the class very interesting. Class size varies from 10 in advanced classes to about 100 in beginner level classes.

Other: The campus is very well located in Chennai, with a lot of the important places easily accessible by public transport. The campus is lush green and has around 600 deer and 50 blackbucks. Students gain exposure to a variety of extracurricular activities.

IITM - A great place to study.

Placements: Generally, the placements are very good, especially for electrical engineering. This year almost all electrical engineering students in B.Tech and dual degree got placed in the first two days. Placement packages were between 10 LPA and 40 LPA. Internships are heavily dependent on branch. All CS students usually get an internship whereas about 75% of electrical students get it and so on. There is a placement cell assisted by a student body called the placement team headed by an elected representative. This framework is very student friendly.

Infrastructure: The campus is situated in a forest like atmosphere with very rich fauna and flora. Labs, library and sports facilities are state of the art. Classes in a few departments could use some renovation works. There is an institute hospital and, three ambulances. Every student is also insured in case of any emergencies. Mess food is healthy but can get very monotonous. There are about 9 messes for boys.

Faculty: The faculty are very highly qualified, and they are also very interested in teaching and mentoring students. Student to faculty ratio depends on the course. For an introductory course, it could be as high as 1 faculty for hundred students. Starting with the 2015 batch, the curriculum was changed to make it very flexible for students. At every stage, efforts are made to ensure students are learning the necessary skills to be very good engineers.

Full of experience, full of entertainment, full of study.

Placements: IITs are known for best placements in the country. Placement percentage for 2015-16 session was 70.18 %. Maximum salary offered was 84.32 lakh per annum and minimum salary offered was 3 lakh. Overall 216 companies registered for placements including Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, McKinsey etc. They offered a lot of profiles including software developer, business analyst, management trainee, core developer etc. Overall 62% students got internships. Min stipend was nil and max stipend was 25000 per month.

Infrastructure: The best infrastructure in the country. One can realize that yeah that is the kind of environment I needed for study. IIT Madras has everything one needs- superfast internet connectivity to super computer. The whole campus is covered with cable connection. It has biggest library one will see with million of books. 4 floors fully air-conditioned with enough sitting space with flexible chairs. It has its own hospital, cricket ground, SBI and CANARA bank branches, sports complex with every game, gym, swimming pool. Separate buildings for every department. 16 boys hostel+3 girls hostel. 2 hostels were built in 2015 only while 4 hostels were built in 2010 with 7 floors. 24x7 canteen and 1 night canteen. You will get the best food over there. Hostel rooms are single but for freshers, there are double or triple rooms so that they don't feel home sickness.

Faculty: The best faculty one will ever see. There is a lot of faculty available for a single subject so that they change alternatively to get the best output. Every senior faculty member has his/her lab too so that students working under that faculty can get suitable space for research. The course curriculum is also well maintained and reviewed every semester. Everyone has elective options after the first year so that one can learn what one wants to learn. Groups of students are allotted a faculty adviser to understand their problems and to guide them very well so that one can never find himself/herself in difficulty.

Other: The experience, the entertainment, the sports, the academics and the environment one will get at IIT Madras will enforce one to grow automatically. The annual festivals are amazing and full of entertainment. One is tech festival Shashtara and the other one is cultural festival Saarang. It has 2 cricket grounds. Old hostels have their own ground with football, volleyball and badminton courts. I really liked the 24x7 canteens; one can eat whenever he wants. Mess facility is also very good. The campus has good free bus facility and one can see deers even in his/her hostel and monkeys playing with their dustbin.

Other: I had a wonderful experience at IIT- Madras. It had its annual festivals too. Tech Festival was called Shashtara and cultural festival was called Saarang. It had 2 cricket grounds. Old hostels have their own ground with football, volleyball and badminton courts. I really liked the 24x7 canteens where one can eat whenever he wants. Mess facility was also very good. One can choose north or south dishes that was too among 8 caterers.
