Is there a dress code for the IIT CEED Exam 2026?
No, there is no dress code given by IIT Bombay for the CEED 2026 Exam day. Candidates must dress decently and appropriately for the CEED 2026 exam. They should keep in mind traditional and community norms. They should avoid flashy logos, prints, chunky jewellery, and makeup on exam day. Candidates are not expected to dress in a way that may disturb the exam environment.

CEED Dress Code for Females
- Wear something comfortable. It will be best if you go for formal clothes. You can also wear kurta, salwar kamiz, suit, etc.
- Females should avoid wearing headgear or a scarf. They can wear hijab.
- Don’t wear items like scarves, stoles or other accessories that cover your head, unless it is for religious purposes.
- Should avoid wearing rubber bands or clips in your hair. They can use a normal hair tie.
- Avoid wearing any jewellery or accessories, anklets, bracelets, rings, etc.
- Candidates should not have any henna or tattoos, as there will be a biometric impression at the centre.
- Candidates can wear clothes as per the weather.
- Candidates can opt for slippers or sandals with low heels for footwear.
CEED Dress Code for Males
Some of the suggestions for CEED Dress code for Males.
- Both male and female candidates can wear formal wear, like a shirt, trousers, and salwar kameez.
- Avoid wearing a dress with lots of pockets, etc. This will raise suspicion, and you may be subject to a lot of frisking.
- Closed-toe shoes can be an option. However, if you instead wear shoes with heavy heels or thick soles, you may face extra frisking.
- Do not wear metallic items at the exam, eg, rings, bracelets, etc.
- Make sure that whatever you are wearing does not have anything obscene, racial, or controversial.

What is the Reporting time for CEED 2026?
Candidates can report at the CEED examination centre from 7:00 am on Sunday, January 18, 2026. They must have a printout of the CEED Admit Card and a Valid Original Photo Identity Proof. The details of the exam timing will be mentioned in the admit card.
IIT Bombay will conduct CEED 2026 exam on January 18, 2026 from 9 AM to 12 PM. It will be conducted at 27 centres. Candidates must report at 7 AM with admit card and ID proof.
The scorecard of CEED 2026 will be released on March 10, 2026; the last date to download the scorecard is June 11, 2026.
The validity of the scorecard will be one year from the date of its issue. Using the scorecard, the candidate can apply for admission to both CEED 2026 participating and result-sharing institutes.
The scorecard will carry details like the Qualifying status and Part A marks. Open & category-wise Merit rank, and Part B & Total marks will be issued only if the candidate has qualified Part A.
There will be biometric attendance at the test centre. Candidates will be required to record the biometric information (thumb impression and photograph) before appearing for the test. The thumb impressions will be verified again at the time of admission and therefore, candidates should make sure that the impression is clear.
Can I carry Electonic Devices to the CEED exam centre?
Candidates should not carry any electronic devices (mobile phones, smart phones, watches of any type, calculators, tablets and the like), abacus, slide rule, log books, study material of any type, geometry box, and so on to the CEED examination centre.
Stationery Items Allowed for CEED Entrance Exam
Candidates must bring their own pencils in a transparent packet or pouch. Pencil of black shades are allowed. Sketch pens, colour pencils, poster colors and other colouring materials are NOT permitted inside the examination hall. Exchanging and borrowing or sharing of these materials is NOT permitted inside the CEED examination centre.
Prohibited Items at CEED 2026 Exam Centre

- Textual items like bits of paper, plastic pouch, pencil/geometry box, pen, calculator, writing pad, scale, eraser, pen drive, log table, electronic pen/scanner, etc.
- Communication devices like Bluetooth, mobile phones, microphones, earphones, health bands, pagers, etc.
- Wallets, goggles, belts, handbags, caps, etc.
- Wristwatch/watch, camera, bracelet, etc.
- Any metallic items or ornaments
- Water bottles or any open or packed food items
Candidates must know that authorities will provide no arrangement for keeping personal items or articles.
Which documents should be carried for CEED 2026 Exam?
The candidate needs to bring the following documents with them.

- Photo ID proof
Any of the following documents will be accepted as valid photo ID proof.

IIT Bombay will release the exam cities for CEED 2026. The list can be found in the CEED 2026 Information Brochure. In the previous edition, the design entrance exam was held in 27 cities.
Note that exam officials have the authority to drop a city in some cases.

“If a sufficient number of candidates are unavailable in a city, that city may be dropped from the final list, and candidates will be allotted to a city of their second or third choice.”
CEED exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026. On the day of exam, candidate must report at the exam centre at 7 am. The reporting time will also be mentioned on the admit card. Exam will be from 9 AM to 12 PM at the centres.
When reporting for exam, candidate must bring with them a valid photo ID proof and the admit card.
Note that the IDs should be in the original. Photocopies will not be accepted.

Note that once an exam centre has been allocated, there is no scope to change it. In fact, CEED officials will not entertain any requests for a change in the exam centre.
The details of the exam centre allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the CEED 2026 admit card. The allotment of CEED 2026 exam centre will done on the basis of the exam city seelcted by the candidate. Exam officials will also consider other factors like the address of the candidate and seat intake available in various exam centres in that particular city.
