UCEED Test
UCEED is conducted by IIT Bombay to offer admission to aspirants in the Bachelor of Design (BDes program) program offered at participating colleges. The UCEED exam has two parts. Part A is a computer-based test that comprises three sections, while Part B will include a design-aptitude and a sketching-based question. Three sections of Part A of the exam consist of Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions, Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). In UCEED 2027, candidates will have to attempt around 59 questions in a three-hour duration.

What topics are included in UCEED 2027 Syllabus?

Syllabus of UCEED is to help candidates identify topics and subjects from which questions can come in the UCEED Exam. Understand exam pattern and marking scheme and prepare accordingly. Candidates should check the syllabus before preparing UCEED.
IIT Bombay released the syllabus for UCEED 2027 on October 01, 2026. So, if you are planning to appear in UCEED 2027 exam, you must follow the official syllabus.
UCEED syllabus contains topics that candidates need to prepare for the national-level design entrance exam. As per the UCEED syllabus, Part A has 57 questions and Part B includes two questions.
Candidates can use the previous year's papers to practice for the exam. The more sample papers you solve, the better you will get. The question papers are available on the official website under the download section.

UCEED question paper will have two parts: Part A and Part B. It covers visualisation and spatial reasoning, practical and scientific knowledge, observation and design sensitivity, and environment and society in Part A. Part B tests drawing skills and design aptitude, including proportion, perspective, composition and creative problem-solving.
Is there negative marking in UCEED Exam?
There is negative marking in each exam section of UCEED Exam and so aspirants are advised to refrain from making any wild guesses in the test. This is the reason why mock test and sample papers are effective in UCEED exam preparation, because they help aspirants determine the format and pattern of the exam.

If UCEED 2027 fee payment fails, check your bank or payment gateway status before attempting another payment. If amount has been deducted but application status is not updated, use Report Problem option on UCEED application portal and provide your registration details.

For Indian candidates, UCEED 2027 registration fee is INR 2,000 for female candidates of all categories and SC, ST and PwD candidates. All other candidates must pay INR 4,000. Foreign candidates pay USD 200 for SAARC countries and USD 250 for non-SAARC countries.

Yes, there is negative marking in UCEED exam. Part A has selective negative marking. MCQs deduct 0.71 marks and MSQs deduct 1 mark for wrong answers. Part B has no negative marking.
