UCEED Registration Fee
UCEED 2027 registration started. All those who wish to seek a B.Des degree from IITs must fill the application form for the UCEED 2027 Entrance Exam. The admission process, including UCEED registration, conduct of the exam, result declaration, cutoff and counselling, etc., is carried out by IIT Bombay.
The application form for UCEED 2027 will be available online at uceed.iitb.ac.in. The registration forms can be filled only online. Candidates should satisfy all the eligibility criteria stated by IIT Bombay for the UCEED Exam. The registration fee is not refundable or transferable.
Candidates can fill the UCEED Registration form with regular fees till October 31, 2026, 11:59 PM and with late fees of INR 500 along with regular fees till November 06, 2026.

The UCEED application form is to be filled by candidates seeking admission to the B. Des programme. Also, UCEED scores are not considered for admission to the M.Des programme. So, the candidates must instead fill out the application form for CEED . Note that both the CEED and UCEED exams are conducted by IIT Bombay.
UCEED question paper will have two parts: 1. computer-based Part A and 2. Drawing and aptitude based Part B.
Some of topics to prepare for UCEED are given below.
- Visualization and spatial reasoning: Ability to visualise and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.
- Practical and scientific knowledge: Know-how of scientific principles and everyday objects.
- Observation and design sensitivity: Capacity to detect concealed properties in day-to-day life and think critically about them. Attention to detail, classification, analysis, inference and prediction.
- Environment and society: General awareness of environmental, social and cultural connections with design.
- Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative information.
- Language: Proficiency in reading and comprehending Standard English.
- Creativity: Grasp of verbal and non-verbal analogies, metaphors, signs and symbols.
The application fee (expected) for UCEED 2027 form is
- Female candidates (all categories) and SC/ST/PwD candidates have to pay INR 2,000.
- All other candidates need to pay INR 4,000 as the application fee.

No, candidates will not be given a refund for UCEED 2027 application fee under any circumstances. UCEED application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. So, before paying the application fee, the candidate needs to make up their minds whether they want to appear in the UCEED exam or not.
The admit cards for the UCEED 2027 exam will be released on January 02, 2027. Admit cards will be released for all candidates who successfully complete the application form. It was released online.
If you consider the question paper of UCEED 2026, then the exam can be considered to be moderately difficult. For instance, of the 68 questions asked, around 18 questions fall in the moderate category, 18 in the moderate to difficult category, while the rest can be tagged easy to moderate.
In contrast, NIFT and NID DAT are considered to be tougher. This is because in NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective and drawing-related questions. Consequently, the candidate needs to be very creative and have strong fundamentals to answer the questions. In NID DAT for the B. Des programme, DAT Prelims carries 40% weightage, while DAT Mains carries 60% weightage.
There is no option to edit UCEED application form once it is submitted. There is no application edit window. So, candidates must be very careful while filling the application form.

Other important points related to UCEED 2027 Application Fee
- The UCEED registration fees shown above do not include service charges, processing fees and/or any other charges that the banks may charge.
- The above registration fee is applicable till the closing date of October 31, 2026.
- A late fee of ₹ 500/US $ 50 applies to candidates registering after the closing date of October 31, 2026, and till the late registration closing date, i.e., November 07, 2026,
(5:00 pm).

Yes, the application form for UCEED 2027 is open now. The candidate has the option to fill out the form with regular and late fees.
The UCEED 2026 seat-acceptance fee for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidate is INR 60,000. However, note that SC, ST, and PwD candidates only need to pay INR 15,000. The fee will have to paid within the schedule notified by IIT Bombay. If the candidate fails to make the payment within the given deadline, then the allotment will be cancelled. Also, the seat vacated in such cases will be allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit.
The UCEED 2026 counseling will have five seat allotment rounds. Note that the seat-acceptance fee will have to be paid as per the seat allotment round.

B.Des Admission Application Fee
Once you have given the UCEED Entrance exam and cleared the cutoff, you have fill an application form for B.Des admission at various IITs and participating institutes. After filling this application form, you will be eligible to sit and apply for admission in all the UCEED Participating and result sharing institutes.
The application fee for the B.Des application will be around INR 4000 for all categories and genders.

For Indian candidates, UCEED 2027 registration fee is INR 2,000 for female candidates of all categories and SC, ST and PwD candidates. All other candidates must pay INR 4,000. Foreign candidates pay USD 200 for SAARC countries and USD 250 for non-SAARC countries.

Yes, there is negative marking in UCEED exam. Part A has selective negative marking. MCQs deduct 0.71 marks and MSQs deduct 1 mark for wrong answers. Part B has no negative marking.
