UCEED 2027 registration begins on October 01, 2026. All those who wish to seek a B.Des degree from IITs must fill the application form for the UCEED 2027 Entrance Exam. The admission process, including UCEED registration, conduct of the exam, result declaration, cutoff and counselling, etc., is carried out by IIT Bombay.
The application form for UCEED 2027 will be available online at uceed.iitb.ac.in. The registration forms can be filled only online. Candidates should satisfy all the eligibility criteria stated by IIT Bombay for the UCEED Exam. The registration fee is not refundable or transferable.

The UCEED application form is to be filled by candidates seeking admission to the B. Des programme. Also, UCEED scores are not considered for admission to the M.Des programme. The application fee (expected) for UCEED 2027 form is
- Female candidates (all categories) and SC/ST/PwD candidates have to pay INR 2,000.
- All other candidates need to pay INR 4,000 as the application fee.

If you consider the question paper of UCEED 2026, then the exam can be considered to be moderately difficult. For instance, of the 68 questions asked, around 18 questions fall in the moderate category, 18 in the moderate to difficult category, while the rest can be tagged easy to moderate.
In contrast, NIFT and NID DAT are considered to be tougher. This is because in NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective and drawing-related questions. Consequently, the candidate needs to be very creative and have strong fundamentals to answer the questions. In NID DAT for the B. Des programme, DAT Prelims carries 40% weightage, while DAT Mains carries 60% weightage.
The UCEED 2026 seat-acceptance fee for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidate is INR 60,000. However, note that SC, ST, and PwD candidates only need to pay INR 15,000. The fee will have to paid within the schedule notified by IIT Bombay. If the candidate fails to make the payment within the given deadline, then the allotment will be cancelled. Also, the seat vacated in such cases will be allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit.
The UCEED 2026 counseling will have five seat allotment rounds. Note that the seat-acceptance fee will have to be paid as per the seat allotment round.

Three months is not a lot of time to prepare for an exam of the magnitude of UCEED. But the silver lining is that it could be done, provided your fundamentals are strong.

- Follow UCEED syllabus and exam pattern.
- Make a timetable.
- To start with, focus on topics that are easy but carry decent weightage.
- Once you are done with the easy topics, move on to the moderately difficult and difficult topics.
- Solve sample papers and practice mock tests.
B.Des Admission Application Fee
Once you have given the UCEED Entrance exam and cleared the cutoff, you have fill an application form for B.Des admission at various IITs and participating institutes. After filling this application form, you will be eligible to sit and apply for admission in all the UCEED Participating and result sharing institutes.
The application fee for B.Des application will be around INR 4000 for all categories and genders.

UCEED is one of the accepting exams for admission in BDes programme of MIT-WPU, Pune. However, it is not mandatory. Aspirants with scores in NATA, NIFT Entrance Exam or NID or MIT-WPU CET can also get admission in BDes provided they also pass the selection rounds.

Both institutions offer the BDes course but with completely different admission processes. IIT Indore accepts admission based on the UCEED entrance exam, while BITS Pilani considers the NID Entrance exam/ BITSAT exam result.
