COMEDK UGET Counselling 2025: The COMEDK UGET 2025 counselling is ongoing. Shiksha conducted its survey to understand the top college choices of students who are participating in the counselling. RVCE emerged as a top choice for 41% of the participants, while 34% of the students are planning to move to other colleges. Among the list of targeted colleges are BMSE and MSRIT. The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) is conducting the COMEDK UGET 2025 counselling in four rounds. The COMEDK round 1 seat allotment result was declared on July 28. The choice filling for round 1 counselling was held from July 18 to 20. During the choice filling, students are allowed to make their preference for the available colleges and courses. Candidates have to make their choices in order of preference. 41% of those who participated in the Shiksha poll specifying their priorities for the ongoing COMEDK UGET counselling have rated RVCE as their top choice. BMSE is the top choice for 14% while MSRIT follows with 11% of the total votes. Notably, 34% of the total participants have other colleges as their first preference for this session’s counselling process.

There are several reasons why RVCE or RV College of Engineering is a popular choice for admission. Let us explore some of these.

• Placement Statistics

An institute’s placement statistics play a major role in influencing a candidate’s decision for admission. This stands true when it comes to RVCE as well. The institute saw a phenomenal highest placement of Rs. 92 LPA for the BE course in its 2024 placement session. The engineering placements at RVCE recorded 664 offers being made with 179 companies visiting the campus. The 2024 placement statistics reveal that over 506 offers were above 8 LPA. 

• Popular and Relevant Branches and Seats

An institute's popularity is also influenced by what courses it offers. Colleges that provide in-demand courses and preferred over those that offer courses with limited scope in the future. Apart from the core engineering, each year the CSE branch attracts more and more students given its scope. However, with the current trends we find, more students are choosing data science and AI to maximise the current job market. R V College of Engineering offers 13 BTech courses, admission to which is done through the UGET exam. There are 408 seats available at RVCE across all the courses. This year, there are 108 seats for the CSE branch, while CSE (AI & ML) has 54 seats. Candidates can check the detailed course-wise seat matrix for RVCE on COMEDK’s website.

The college's cutoff also significantly impat the students' college preferences. Candidates often refer to the previous year COMEDK cutoff ranks before deciding on their college preferences. This helps to set realistic goals that have a high chance of resulting in admissions. It also ensures students do not miss out on any choices and regret later.

• Ranking and Reviews

An institute’s rankings and ratings also influence the candidate’s decision for admission. Candidates also check the NIRF ranking and other students' reviews for their preferred institute.
