This year, the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, will conduct the GATE 2026 exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15 in two shifts- forenoon and afternoon. The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, will be conducting the GATE 2026 exam. The dates are OUT now. IIT Guwahati last conducted the GATE exam in 2018. Candidates who want to apply for M.Tech or any research programmes can apply for GATE. The application window is available till October 6 without late fees (revised), and the exam will be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15.
The GATE question paper consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), multiple-select questions (MSQs) and numerical aptitude questions (NATs). In MCQs, one out of four options will be correct. Important Details to Note Before Applying for the GATE 2026
- The mode of application form is online only
- Multiple submission of the application form is not allowed
- The registration fee must be paid online. The accepted payment modes are UPI, debit card, credit card, and online banking
- If a candidate wishes to appear in two papers, then the fees are doubled
- The admit card will be available for the students who have registered
- Requests for a change in the centre are not allowed after the admit card release
- For candidates appearing for the GG and XH papers, separate scores and ranking will be done based on their section selection
- For candidates appearing for architecture and planning, and geomatic engineering papers, no separate ranking or score will be provided based on their section selection
