Candidates with JEE Mains ranks below 40,000 can have a chance to get the CSE branch at one of the IIITs. However, the computer science branch is very competitive, and the cutoff can jump or fall extremely. IIIT Computer Science Engineering JoSAA Cutoff 2026: After each round of JoSAA 2026 counselling, the IIIT CSE cutoffs 2026 in the form of opening and closing ranks will be available here. This year, there are five rounds of JoSAA, which means seat allotment will be done in five rounds. The vacant seats of IIIT CSE, if any, after the last round, will be filled via CSAB 2026 counselling.
The elite tier of IIITs requires a high JoAAA cutoff for the CSE branch, with top-tier seats closing well within the top 10,000 ranks. Mid-tier and newer Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) offer CSE options for candidates with JEE Main ranks ranging from 15,000 to 38,000. JoSAA 2026 Counselling
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) shares the starting and closing admission ranks after each round of seat selection. The opening rank is the highest score that gets into a course. The closing rank is the lowest score that manages to get a seat. For JoSAA 2026, entry into IITs depends on JEE Advanced ranks. Entry into NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and GFTIs depends on JEE Main ranks. These cutoff ranks change every year based on:
- How hard was the exam
- How many students passed category-wise
- How many seats are available
The official cutoff lists show the college name, the course, the seat quota, gender rules, and the final opening and closing ranks.
