As per the initial reactions of the students who appeared for the MET 2025 April 18 paper, the overall examination was of moderate difficulty. Students found the exam easier than JEE Main 2025 April exam.
- Overall Difficulty - Moderate
- Physics: Students found it moderately difficult. Most of the questions were NCERT-based.
- Chemistry: Most students reported that Chemistry was easy.
- Mathematics: Moderate. There were lengthy questions which made the section a bit tougher for the students.
- English: This section was easy for the candidates

The authorities do not consider any other exam score for MET admissions. All students will have to attempt and qualify the MET exam to be eligible for admission into the participating campuses. However, the basic 12th standard qualifying exam mark eligibility has to be met.
Overall, MET is of moderate difficulty. Candidates who are prepared for board exams will be able to simultaneously prepare for MET. In comparison to national level exams such as JEE Main, MET is considered easier.
As per MET exam pattern, total score is 240. However, for every wrong answer in MCQs, one mark will be deducted. There is no negative marking for NATs.
