MHT CET Syllabus Change

The Maharashtra State CET Cell has released the MHT CET 2026 syllabus online. The syllabus for Maharashtra CET includes topics from classes 11th and 12th. Candidates must check the MHT CET syllabus 2026 to know what topics have been added and/or removed this year. Preparing as per the official syllabus is important to cover all that lies in the scope of the MHT CET exam.

80 percent weightage is given to class 12th topics, while the remaining 20 percent is from class 11th topics. The questions will be based on the Syllabus of the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Maharashtra.

What’s New in MHT CET 2026?

A major update in the MHT CET 2026 exam is the frequency of its conduct. This year onwards, the MHT CET exam will be held twice a year for engineering and MBA. This move will give students another opportunity to improve their results. The MHT CET 2026 exam date for session 1 is April 11 to 19 (PCM) and April 21 to 26 (PCB). The MHT CET second session exam is scheduled for May 10 and 11 (PCB) and May 14 to 17 (PCM).

Q:   Is MHT CET syllabus same as syllabus of JEE Mains?
A:

The syllabus of MHT CET is not same as JEE Main. As per the information available in MHT CET official website, only a few topics of class 11 are part of the MHT CET syllabus. However, all class 12 topics are covered in MHT CET syllabus. The difficulty level of MHT CET is similar to JEE Mains. Students preparing for any of these exams can download the syllabus from the Shiksha page. 

Q:   In how much time can I complete the entire MHT CET syllabus?
A:

In general, the MHT CET syllabus can be completed in 6 months. The time required will however vary for every student. If student start preparing for MHT CET in class 12, they can easily cover the entire syllabus for MHT CET along with the school home-work by giving special emphasis to topics that are part of MHT CET syllabus.

Q:   Is MHT CET syllabus same for PCM and PCB groups?
A:

The syllabus for MHT CET PCM (BE/BTech) and PCB (BPharma) is different. MHT CET PCM exam is conducted for admission to BE/BTech while the PCB examis conducted for BPharma courses.  MHT CET PCM syllabus consists of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. PCB syllabus has Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates must note that Physics and Chemistry syllabus is common/same in both PCB and PCM papers. Candidates can download the CET syllabus from Shiksha page or from the official website.

Topics Added in MHT CET 2026 Syllabus Subject-wise

Compared to last year, no new topics have been added to the syllabus. In 2025, the authorities added topics in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

Deleted Topics in MHT CET 2026 Syllabus

There is no removal of topics from the MHT CET 2026 syllabus. Last year, the authorities removed mathematics topics from the syllabus.

Q:   What is the syllabus of MHT CET?
A:

MHT CET is conducted for multiple courses and the syllabus is different for each course. The syllabus of MHT CET PCM Group (BE/BTech) includes class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics topics. For MHT CET PCB Group (BPharma), the syllabus consists of Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates can check and download the detailed topics-wise MHT CET syllabus on the Shiksha page as well as on the official website cetcell.mahacet.org. The syllabus of MHT CET consists of all topics of class 12 while only a few topics of class 11 are covered in the CET syllabus.

There is no age limit to apply for MHT CET 2026. Applicants must have either passed class 12th or should be appearing in class 12th this year to apply for the test, irrespective of their age.

No, the MHT CET Law exam (MH CET Law) is a state-level entrance test meant only for law colleges in Maharashtra. It isn't accepted for admissions outside Maharashtra, as other states or universities usually take national-level exams like CLAT or conduct their own entrance tests.
