VITEEE 2026 Exam: Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is the annual entrance exam, which is conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology. Based on their performance in the entrance exam, the students are chosen for B.Tech admissions into the participating campuses. For admission, only the VITEEE ranks will be considered. No other exam score will be accepted. The official website for VITEEE is viteee.vit.ac.in.

The official VITEEE 2026 exam dates will be available soon. The students need to pass the entrance exam for admission. The online VITEEE 2026 application form will be released tentatively in the first week of November 2025. It is essential for all candidates to fill out and submit the form before the VITEEE 2026 application form last date. All of the provided details have to be correct. While filling out the VIT application form, the candidates will also have to select their preferred exam centres, in order of preference. VITEEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The authorities will soon release the VITEEE eligibility criteria 2026 online. Before registration, the candidates are advised to check the official eligibility criteria. If the candidates are unable to meet the required eligibility criteria, then they will not be considered for VIT admissions.

Nationality: The candidate should be a Resident/Non-Resident Indian National/PIO Holder.

Age Limit: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after July 1, 2004, will be eligible to apply for VITEEE 2026. The date of birth as recorded in the High School Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing which, they will be disqualified.

Qualifying Examination: Candidates appearing for the VITEEE 2026 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2026, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:

  1. The final examination of the Class 12 system of the Higher Secondary Examination, i.e., conducted by the State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), and the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE), New Delhi.
  2. Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised Board/ University.
  3. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  4. General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
    As per VIT Norms, Regular ‘NIOS’ board candidates are also eligible for VITEEE. They should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.
  5. Candidates who have studied Regular, Full Time and Formal education are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria in the Qualifying Examination

  • Candidates appearing for the VITEEE 2026 paper should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
  • The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate) put together should be 50% for the following categories:

(a) Candidates belonging to the SC/ST Community

(b) Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.

  • The certificate to prove nativity should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
  • In case the mark statement is not produced by the candidates at the time of admission, the decision of the Management regarding his/her eligibility and admission to the programme shall be final.
  • For Indian nationals/ NRI/ PIO cardholders, appearance in VITEEE-2026 is mandatory to be eligible for BTech admission.
  • In case VITEEE gets cancelled due to natural calamities, the qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks.

Subject Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the qualifying examination are eligible for all the B.Tech. Degree programmes.
  • Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and have attempted MPCEA in VITEEE will be eligible only for the following courses - BTech Biotechnology, BTech Computer Science and Engineering (Bioinformatics), BTech Electronics and Communication Engineering (Biomedical Engineering), BTech Health Sciences and Technology, BTech Bioengineering and BTech Computer Science and Engineering (Health Informatics)
  • Even though the admission is done as per the VITEEE ranking, the candidate has to fulfil the eligibility norms mentioned.

VIT rank holders of 11 to 50 are given 75% fee waiver, 51 to 100 ranks a 50% fee waiver, and 101 to 500 rank holders, a 25% fee waiver.

Q:   Which documents have to be submitted for verification during VITEEE counselling?

After allotment, the students will have to verify their documents at their respective campus. All original documents and a set of photocopies have to be submitted for verification. The list of documents consists of VITEEE counselling letter, admit card, rank card, 12th standard marks sheets, reservation certificates, 10th standard admit card/proof of birth, etc.

Q:   What is the VITEEE 2026 seat allotment date?
A: 

The official dates for the VITEEE seat allotment 2026 will be announced. The phase-wise counselling will be conducted online and the students will have to participate as per their obtained ranks. Students can check the phase-wise seat allotment after logging into the portal.

Q:   What is the process to select exam centres for VITEEE?
A: 

While filling the application form, the students also have to select their choice of exam cities. The list of exam cities have to be selected in order of preference. While allotting the VITEEE exam centres, the preferred list of cities will be checked. If the first preference is not available, then the second will be given to the students.

Q:   Is the VITEEE application form available offline?
A: 

No. The VITEEE application form will not be available offline. If the student wants to participate in the entrance exam, they will have to fill out the form online at viteee.vit.ac.in. Other than online, no other mode of application will be considered acceptable.

Q:   What are the document specifications for VITEEE application form?
A: 

While filling the VITEEE application form, the students will have to upload their scanned passport size photograph and signature. For the photograph, the file size has to be between 20KB to 300KB and the dimensions have to be 300 to 400 pixels (width) and 400 to 550 pixels (height). The signature has to be 5KB to 150KB and the dimensions should be 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm. Both files should be in JPEG/JPG format.

Q:   Will the VITEEE admit card be available offline?
A: 

No offline VITEEE admit card will be available. Once the admit card is generated, the students will have to log in using their application number and OTBS password to download it. Once downloaded and printed out, the hall ticket has to be shown at the exam centre along with one valid ID proof.

Q:   Can I book my VIT slots anytime?
A: 

No, the students will have to book their VIT exam slots during the slot booking process. During the slot booking period, the students have to log in and choose their preferred exam slot. Only the available slots will be listed out. Once booked, the slots cannot be reviewed or changed.

Q:   Where will the VITEEE 2026 dates be announced?
A: 

The VITEEE 2026 dates will be announced online at viteee.vit.ac.in. The details on when the exam events will be held can be checked through the official dates. The authorities are expected to announce the VIT 2026 dates in November 2025, once the application form is released.

Q:   Can I pay the VITEEE application fee offline?
A: 

No, the students will not be allowed to pay the VITEEE application fee online. To make the payment, the students will have to use their credit card/debit card/net banking/UPI. If the fee is not paid, then the students will not be considered for the examination and admission process.

No, the official VITEEE cutoffs are not released by the authorities. The cutoff is prepared to help the authorities determine the students for admission. The cutoff will be different for every category, course and college selected by the students.

Q:   How are the VIT slots allotted?

Once the students are registered for the exam, they will have to book their VIT exam slots through the online process. After logging in, the students will have to choose their preferred slot from the available ones. The same exam slot will be given to the students. This is the reason the students should book their slots as soon as possible, so that they are given their preference.

Q:   Which topics have to be studied for VITEEE aptitude section?
A: 

The aptitude section in VITEEE is present to test the student's aptitude and to check if they are ready for admission. Some of the topics that has to be prepared for the aptitude section are: Syllogism, Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency, Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Clocks, Calendars and Directions.

Q:   Is a refund given if the VITEEE application fee is paid twice accidently?
A: 

Yes. If the student accidentally pays the VITEEE application fee twice, then they will get refunded for one payment within 7 working days. If the refund is not given within the working 5 to 7 days, then the students have to contact the authorities and raise a request for refund.
