VITEEE 2026 Exam Hall Instructions: Vellore Institute of Technology has released VIT exam hall instructions along with information bulletin. VITEEE exam was held from April 28 to May 3. Test in two shifts: Morning and Afternoon. Candidates appearing for entrance test can check exam hall instructions and guidelines to avoid making any mistake during computer-based test. 

VITEEE 2026 exam hall instructions: VIT Vellore is conducting VIT exam as per dates mentioned on official website. Candidates who have registered for VIT entrance exam can attempt computer-based test. Registrations and slot booking process have been completed. VITEEE 2026 exam dates were April 28 to May 3. Students attempting VITEEE 2026 must be well aware of hall instructions, code of conduct, and exam day guidelines.

Who can attempt VITEEE 2026 Exam?

Candidates who have completed their VITEEE slot booking and downloaded their admit card are eligible to appear for exam. Carrying hall ticket to test centre is mandatory. Students must note that hall ticket is issued only to those who have booked their slot at VIT OTBS portal. In addition, students must be aware of difference between confirmation mail and VITEEE admit card 2026. 

• VIT exam booking confirmation mail is document that is received after completing slot booking process. 
• On other hand, VIT exam hall ticket is the identity document, that is received for entry to exam hall. 

NOTE: Booking confirmation email will have test city details or VITEEE exam centre/city, while admit card will have information regarding test centre name and address details. 

What items to carry at VITEEE Exam Hall?

Candidates must carry following things to exam centre -

• Valid photo ID proof (Aadhar card/PAN card/Voter ID/Driving License/Passport) with photograph/Class XII board admit card with photograph
• Pen or pencil for rough work.

Is Calculator allowed for VIT Exam 2026?

No, calculator (physical or digital) is not allowed for exam attempt. Students have to solve questions manually. Rough sheets will be provided during exam. Candidates will have to write down their name and other details asked, and then start solving questions. After the exam is completed, the rough sheet must be returned to invigilator.

VITEEE 2026 Exam Shift Timings and Reporting Time

Candidates must note that VIT, Vellore will conduct exam in multiple shifts, and maintain a strict guideline. Candidates can check VITEEE 2026 exam shift timings and what time to report -

It is advised that students must report to exam centre on allotted day and date only. They must reach their centre at least two hours before to complete frisking process. Students appearing for VITEEE exam, will have to undergo biometric verification process, as part of attendance and hall ticket verification process. The checking is done before and during the exam.

Applicants who do not cooperate in the biometric verification will not be allowed to appear for the entrance examination. In addition. a biometric authentication process will also be carried out for the shortlisted candidates during admission.

VITEEE Exam Hall Instructions

Once the verification and authentication process is completed, students will be allowed inside exam hall to attempt the test. The invigilator will mention the VITEEE exam hall instructions to students before the start of exam. 

• Candidates must sit in the allotted seat, which is pre-allotted. 
• Applicants will be monitored through CCTV camera individually.
• They are not allowed to carry any other items or documents apart from hall ticket and ID proof.
• Students must not sit idle for more than 20 minutes, as they will be closely monitored by the VIT observer. 
• A rough sheet will be provided in the exam hall for doing calculations.
• Scribe applicants will get a compensatory time of 30 minutes to complete the VIT entrance exam. 
• Candidates have to maintain discipline inside the exam hall.
• Also, students will not be allowed to leave the VITEEE exam centre before the completion of exam time.

Each computer is connected to a central server that provides encrypted test in real time. The question paper will be in English (MCQ format) and will appear one by one randomly. 

In addition, this year VIT has introduced negative marking in exam. Therefore, students must be careful while attempting questions. Only mark those that you are confident of. Strategise techniques on how to avoid negative marking in VITEEE.

VITEEE Code of Conduct

Vellore Institute of Technology maintains strict guidelines inside the exam hall, which can be checked below -

• Malpractice is not allowed inside exam hall. If any candidate is found to be misusing the rules, then their candidature will be cancelled.
• Any kind of stationary items, electronic gadgets, or food items are strictly prohibited.
• Candidates cannot write someone else’s exam
• Writing questions and answers on rough sheet or hall ticket is not allowed.
• After VIT exam is completed, candidates have to return their rough sheet to the invigilator

During exam, if there is any technical or health issue, candidates must immediately contact the central superintendent or invigilator.
