The syllabus of VITEEE aptitude section can be checked below -

Not entirely, the core topics remain the same. VITEEE has 10 aptitude questions, and English has 5 questions. The physics, chemistry and maths questions are mostly formula-based and less tricky than JEE Main.

Q:   Is 75% required for VITEEE?
A: 

No, 75% is not required for VITEEE. The minimum qualifying mark is 60% marks in physics, mathematics and chemistry. On the other hand, for SC/ST, Jammu and Ladakh and North-Eastern states, the minimum qualifying mark is 50%. 

According to the subject requirement, 60% or 50% is calculated based on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. PCB is required for Biotech/Bioengineering.

Q:   Can I join VIT without entrance?
A: 

No, admission to VIT Group of Institutions strictly requires qualifying VITEEE exam. Hence, it is mandatory to appear for VIT BTech exam and qualify for it.

Compared to other BTech engineering exams, like JEE Main, the VITEEE difficulty level is mostly on moderate level. However, with negative marking introduced this year and time-constraints, the question solving mainly depends on accuracy. As per exam pattern, candidates need to solve 125 questions in 150 minutes. 

Q:   Are NCERT books enough for VITEEE?
A: 

Since VITEEE syllabus is similar to the 12th standard qualifying exam, the students can use the NCERT books to prepare. However, the students are also advised to check other important reference books so that they can have a deeper knowledge of the topics that are listed out in the syllabus.

Q:   Is calculator allowed in VITEEE?
A: 

No, physical and virtual calculators are not allowed in VITEEE. Students have to attempt all questions manually. They will be provided rough sheets to do calculation. 

Q:   Can I give VITEEE from home?
A: 

No, VITEEE is conducted online at designated exam centres issued by the authorities. There is no chance of attempting VIT exam from home. Candidates have to register, book slot, download admit card and appear for the entrance test on the chosen date and time.

Decoding the Revised VITEEE Exam Pattern 2026

This year, the VIT Group of Institutions have introduced negative marking, One incorrect answer -1 mark deducted. Overall, VITEEE question paper will consist of 125 questions, and the total mark is 500, which students have to solve within 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Attempt VITEEE Mock Tests

VIT exam rule: 125 questions in 150 minutes. That’s roughly 72 seconds per question. The authorities have activated VITEEE mock test link on their official website. However, before that, we advise you to start attempting full-length mock tests and sample papers along with daily preparation routine. 

Doing this, will build up a habit of getting used to pattern and question structure. Thus, you get to work on your time management skills and accuracy. Also you get to analyse what type of questions are asked in VITEEE. Also, refer to most repeated questions asked in VIT exam.

Tip: Avoid using calculators to solve questions, as VIT does not allow physical or built-in calculators during the exam. Therefore, try solving questions manually.

In VITEEE, VIT mainly focuses on class 12th syllabus than 11th standard syllabus. To score 300 to 400 marks in VIT exam, we advise to -

  • Cover 12th syllabus first

No, the exact VITEEE test centre name and address will be displayed on admit card which is available two days before the allocated exam date. At the time of slot booking it will not be disclosed.

The slot booking process was done from April 17 to 19. The link was made available at OTBS portal. Registered candidates were able to book their exam slot using application number and password.
