To prepare for CLAT Exam you need not only dedication but also the correct CLAT Preparation plan. Candidates should prepare a section-wise study plan that includes solving sample papers and developing a strategy for each section. Without top-tier preparation, candidates will struggle to attain a rank high enough to gain entry to the top NLUs. The CLAT 2027 exam dates will be announced along with the official CLAT Notification.

The tips to prepare for the CLAT exam have been provided here. Getting into one of the top NLUs like NLSIU Bangalore or NALSAR is a dream for many Law aspirants. To crack the exam, a proper strategy play an important role. The CLAT Exam is expected to be held on December 6, 2026, tentatively. Q:   Who releases the CLAT Syllabus?
A: 

The CLAT Syllabus is published by the Consortium. The syllabus has been announced. Candidates who are preparing for the exam must note that there are no changes made in the syllabus so far.  Candidates can check the syllabus by visiting the official website. You can only download the PDF from website.

Q:   Can I complete CLAT Syllabus in a month?
A: 

While it is not impossible, it is a really challenging task. To score well, you must start preparing for CLAT at least six months before. It is very important to score well if you are looking forward to getting into good NLU. For top 10 NLU, you at least need to score between 100 to 105 as per past trends.

English Language
  • Proficiency was tested based on questions related to comprehension passages and grammar
  • There was passages of 450 words based on the contemporary, historically significant fiction and non-fiction writing
  • Candidates had to compare different viewpoints, draw out inferences and conclusions and also understand the meaning of words and phrases given in the passages
Current Affairs including General Knowledge
  • Proficiency was tested based on candidates's awareness about various aspects of static General Knowledge and Current Affairs
  • Important topics for GK are Arts & Culture and History
  • Important topics for Current Affairs are national and international events of last one year
  • There was reading passages of 450 words based on news, journalistic sources and other non-fiction writings
Legal Reasoning
  • Proficiency was tested based on general awareness of contemporary legal and moral issues
  • Questions was based on legal matters, public policy and moral philosophical enquiries
  • There was reading passages of 450 words based on fact-based situations or legal, public policy and moral scenarios
Logical Reasoning
  • Important topics for the section were relationshipsanalogieslogical sequences and arguments
  • There was a reading passages of around 300 words
  • Candidates had to critically analyse the arguments given in the passage, identify the pattern of reasoning and then conclude the arguments
Quantitative Techniques
  • The section carried short sets of passages based on facts, graphs, propositions, pictorials, textuals or diagrammatic representation of numerical data
  • Important topics for the section were ratios and proportionsbasic algebramensuration, and statistics

According to the CLAT exam pattern, there will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating the total marks of a candidate. Hence, if candidates are not sure about the answer of a question, it is better to leave it unattempted rather than doing a guess work, to avoid negative marking.
