IIM Ahmedabad 2025 Admission: Interview Experience

Shiksha: Hi, please tell us about yourself.

Vedant: My name is Vedant Chandewar. I am currently in my final year of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Bombay. My father is an engineer, and my mother is a homemaker. I am from Nagpur and enjoy playing cricket and listening to music. Some of my academic achievements include being an NTSE scholar, KVPY Fellow, and topping Maharashtra’s MHT CET 2021 with a 100 percentile. I was also selected for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO). I had scored 99.98 Percentile in CAT 2024.

Shiksha: Was IIM Ahmedabad your first choice? Why?

Vedant: Yes, IIM Ahmedabad was my first choice. I love rigour. IIM Ahmedabad is the toughest business school to get admission into, also tougher than Harvard. If you ask any CAT aspirant, their dream is to get admission in IIM Ahmedabad. So, it was a dream-come-true moment for me.

Shiksha: What was your AWT topic, and how did you present your argument?

Vedant: IIM Ahmedabad conducts AWT(Analytical Writing Test). In AWT, you are given a long argument, and you have to explain it. My AWT Topic was half a page long. It was a long case study on AI. I described why the argument is logically flawed. What data are weakening the argument, and what can make the argument strong.

Shiksha: How was your PI experience? Tell us about your high points or low points during the interview.

Vedant: It was a very nice Personal Interview experience. There were only high points during my interview. No low points. Therefore, I was very confident of converting this institute.

Shiksha: Can You please Transcript your PI.

Vedant: Venue - Mumbai, Feb 8, 2 Panellists

  • You have an impressive academic Do you believe in Talent or hard work?
  • You can earn crores easily in the US or Why don’t you go there like other students?
  • India is a diverse country, it has a lot of Do you know which language is the oldest?
  • Now, tell me about the recent political turmoil in TN.
  • What is your view on Gerrymandering?
  • Do you believe in God?
  • P1: I am I am done with this interview.
  • P2: Can the Probability Density Function be greater than 1? Justify
  • Give an example where PDF >
  • Why did you choose IIT Bombay over other IITs?

Also Read:

Shiksha: At what point of time during the interview do you think you’ve made it?

Vedant: The panellists were very happy with my answers. They gave me a hint of selection.

Shiksha: Was there a trick question in PI? How did you handle it?

Vedant: Yes, there were many trick questions. The panellists are experts in judging your common sense. I think presence of mind is the key to cracking IIM Interviews.

Shiksha: How much credit will you give to your academics and professional experience for the IIM Ahmedabad selection?

Vedant: Academics and Professional experience play a key role in IIMA selection. Since I was a fresher, their main aim was to test my personality

Shiksha: Any tips for future aspirants?

Vedant: Don’t take stress. Plenty of resources like Shiksha blogs help you prepare. Stay calm during the exam and interviews. There is a little bit of uncertainty involved during the selection process. Many 100 Percentilers don’t get admission in IIMA. So, have a Plan B also, if you get rejected. All the best to future CAT Aspirants!

Shiksha: What is your plan?

Vedant: No future plan as of now. I am just excited to be on the other side of things.
