MAH CET eligibility criteria

MAH MBA CET Eligibility criteria 2026 - The Maharashtra State CET Cell conducts MAH CET, a common entrance exam, for admission to MBA/MMS courses offered by colleges and universities across the state. MAH CET exam is conducted in annually and over 300 colleges and universities including JBIMSSIMSREEK J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research, Prin. LN Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai and PUMBA accept MAH CET score for admission.

There are two phases of MAH CET MBA admission. In the first phase, candidates have to appear for a common entrance test and in the second phase, candidates have to participate in a counselling process called the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). In both the rounds, only those candidates can participate, who meet the MAH MBA CET 2026 eligibility criteria. The minimum eligibility criteria for the first round is graduation whereas for the second round, it is graduation plus more than 0 marks in MBA CET 2026.

MAH MBA CET 2026 will be conducted twice. Candidates have the choice to appear for the exam once or twice. If they appear twice, the best of two scores will be used for CAP 2026 process. Eligibility criteria for both MAH CET attempts is same. Interested candidates can fill the MBA CET 2026 application form from January 10 to February 12, 2026, at the cetcell.mahacet.org website. The fee amount is to be paid per sesssion.

MAH CET Eligibility Criteria for MBA 2026: Academic Qualification

The MBA CET eligibility criteria is determined by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra in accordance to the AICTE guidelines. Given below is the academic qualification required to be eligible for MAH CET 2026:

  • Bachelor’s degree of three-year duration in any discipline with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate or an equivalent degree from a university recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC) or Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • For candidates from Backward Class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State, the minimum score required is 45 per cent.
  • Candidates who have appeared for final year examination of their bachelor’s degree or are awaiting results are also eligible to apply.

In the MAH CET CAP, there are three categories in which the seat allotment is done: 1. Maharashtra State Candidature, 2. All India Candidature/Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidate and 3. NRI/OCI/PIO Foreign National, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries. Given below are the category wise MAH CET CAP eligibility criteria. Maharashtra State Candidature: The candidate should be an Indian National and must have passed Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate from a recognised university (at least 45 per cent in case of candidates belonging to backward class categories and PwD belonging to Maharashtra State only). The candidate must have obtained more than zero score in MAH CET exam. All India Candidature/Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidate: The candidate should be an Indian National and must have passed 3-year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate from a recognised university. They must have also scored more than zero score in MAH CET/XAT/MAT/ATMA/GMAT/CAT/CMAT. NRI/OCI/PIO Foreign National, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries: The candidate should have passed minimum three-year duration Bachelor's Degree with 50 per cent marks or equivalent, awarded by the University recognized by the UGC or AIU. Any other criterion declared from time to time by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra as defined under the ACT.

Q:   I am in final year of graduation. Can I apply for MAH MBA CET?
A: 

Yes, you can apply for MAH MBA CET. However, you're aggregate of first and second year of bachelor's degree course should meet the minimum criteria (50 percent for Unreserved category and 45 percent for reserved category). You will also have to submit the final year passing certificate or marksheet to the university in which you finally take admission by October. Until then, your admission will be provisional.

Q:   I did not appear for MAH MBA CET. How can I participate in CAP round?
A: 

If you did not appear for MAH MBA CET, you can participate in the CAP round for admission to an MBA college in Maharashtra with CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/ATMA/GMAT score under All India category. Such candidates should have scored more than 0 marks in any of these national level MBA entrance exam.

MAH CET Eligibility Criteria 2026 for MBA/MMS: Key Points

Before filling up the MAH CET 2026 application form, candidates must make a note of the following points regarding MAH CET 2026 eligibility criteria.

  • The aggregate marks is referred to as the grand total of marks obtained by the candidate in their subjects of Bachelor’s Degree.
  • In case the candidates are awarded marks in form of grades or CGPA, MAH MBA CET will consider the application after the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks. The formula/process of conversion would be based on the procedure certified by the institution from where they have obtained the Bachelor's Degree.
  • As per the MAH CET MBA eligibility criteria, the percentage of marks will be rounded off to two places after decimal.
  • Candidates seeking relaxation of mark in Bachelor’s Degree under Reserved category (SC, VJ/DT (NT (A)), NT (B), NT(C), NT (D), OBC SBC and SEBC categories), are required to should produce “Caste Validity Certificate” issued by Scrutiny Committee of Social Welfare Department.
  • Similarly, candidate belonging to ST category are required to submit “Tribe Validity Certificate” issued by Scrutiny Committee of Tribal Department and valid Non Creamy Layer certificate except SC, ST candidates. These documents are to be presented at the time of verification of documents, failing which the candidature will be cancelled.

Eligibility Criteria for MAH MBA CET Centralised Admission Process (CAP)

Candidates seeking admission to any of the top MBA colleges accepting MAH CET score are required to participate in the Centralised Admission Process of CAP will be post the declaration of MAH MBA CET 2026 result.The CAP round will be conducted in two to three rounds that will include online registration, choice filling and seat allotment to candidates on the basis of MAH MBA CET score. Under this process, candidates will be grouped in certain categories:

  • Maharashtra State Candidature
  • All India Candidature
  • Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Candidature
  • NRI / OCI / PIO Foreign National, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries

No, you cannot show MAH CET city intimation slip at the test centre for entry. Candidates will be allowed to appear for the test only if they present the hard copy of the admit card and photo ID.

In the MAH CET city intimation slip only the name of test city is mentioned along with candidate's name, DOB, application number and exam. No other detail is mentioned on it.

MAH BBA CET score is the total marks awarded to the candidate out of 100. It is calculated based on every correct attempt. MAH BBA CET percentile is calculated from rank as compared to rest candidates.
