Safety measures and COVID-19 guidelines for XAT 2023 exam day have been notified by XLRI with the release of admit cards. Read below.

XAT 2021 COVID-19 guidelines

XLRI Jamshedpur will conduct XAT 2023 on January 8 at various exam centres in over 70 cities of India with COVID-19 safety measures. The XAT exam will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:10 PM and candidates have to reach their respective exam centres precisely at the reporting time mentioned on their XAT admit cards to ensure there is no overcrowding and the security staff can complete identification process in a staggered manner.

Candidates will be required to maintain social distancing at all times and must have Aarogya Setu App installed in their mobile phones. XAT 2022: COVID-19 Guidelines

  • Candidates must reach the XAT exam centre at the reporting time mentioned on their admit card to avoid crowding
  • Candidates must bring their own mask, gloves, personal hand sanitiser (50ml), transparent water bottle, a simple pen and the exam related documents (XAT admit card, ID card etc.). No other items will be permitted inside exam venue.
  • Candidates must maintain social distancing starting from point of entry in the exam venue till their exit from the exam venue.
  • Candidates must have Aarogya Setu App installed on their mobile phone. The Aarogya Setu dashboard must show candidate’s risk factor.
  • The candidates will have to show Aarogya Setu App dashboard to the security guard at the entry gate.
  • In case a candidate does not have a smart phone, they will have to bring in a signed declaration provided along with XAT 2023 admit card) and show the same to the security guard at the entry gate.
  • Temperature of the candidates will be checked at the entry to the XAT exam venue via a thermo gun.
  • Only those candidates will be allowed entry whose body temperature is within the acceptability limits as approved by competent authorities
  • Candidates showing COVID symptoms will not be allowed entry into the exam venue
  • Mapping of ‘XAT ID and the Lab Number’ will not be displayed outside the exam venue to avoid crowding at the gate. The same will be provided to the candidates individually post their admit card and ID verification.
  • At the registration desk, the candidate will be directed to sanitize their hands using provided hand sanitizer. Photograph will be captured during the registration process.

XAT 2022: Documents to Carry on Exam Day

  • Candidates should bring the XAT admit card along with any one of the following valid photo ID proof.
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Voter ID Card
    • PAN Card
    • Valid college ID Card
    • Passport
    • Driving License
    • Employee ID Card
  • The candidate must affix, a passport size photo on their XAT admit card, same as the one uploaded in the XAT application form.
  • In case of any discrepancy in the photograph, candidate should bring one recent passport size photograph.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to enter the test center after the gate closure time (1:30 PM).
  • Electronic devices, jewelry, jackets, calculators, watch or items containing metal are prohibited inside the test center premises. Candidates are advised to wear plain cardigans or sweaters.
  • Candidates showing non-cooperation during the frisking and identification process may get barred from the exam
  • There will be no provision for keeping baggage and valuables at the exam centres. The candidates must make their own arrangement for keeping their valuables safe
  • Candidates will be allowed to login to their respective system 10 minutes prior to the exam commencement. The candidate can go through the instructions during this duration.
  • Rough sheets and pen will be provided to the candidates inside the XAT exam lab which need to be submitted before leaving the venue
  • Candidates will be under CCTV coverage throughout the exam procedure. Anyone found cheating or indulging in any sort of mal-practice will be disqualified.

Q:   What is the XAT 2025 exam date?
A:

The date for the XAT 2025 exam was 5 January, 2025. This piece of information was released by the XLRI Jamshedpur. 

Q:   How will I know if I have converted the XLRI interview call or not?
A:

Every candidate is informed by XLRI Jamshedpur about their selection via email. The interview round is held in February-March and the offer letter are sent to selected candidates in April-May. Those who would not receive the confirmation letter, may consider that they are not selected for admission. Candidates must keep a check on their emails. They must keep checking spam folders too. It is also very important use the correct and fully functional email ID for XAT registration as that is the main contact point for communication from the institute.

The admission authorities will consider both sectional and overall XAT score while shortlisting candidates for group discussion and personal interview round of XLRI admission. Candidates must perform well in all the sections of XAT exam as well as in the for group discussion and personal interview to be selected for admission.

Q:   What are the XAT exam day guidelines?
A:

Detailed guidelines will be mentioned in the XAT admit card. Here are a few general guidelines for you to know:

  • Candidates are supposed to be at the centre at least an hour before the commencement of exam. Reach the XAT exam centre at the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.
  • Affix your recent passport size photo in colour with preferable white background on the admit card.
  • Do not carry electronic items, valuables and bags to the exam centre. These items are prohibited.
  • Carry two copies of the XAT admit card and the original copy of a valid ID proof such as Aadhaar card, Voter ID card, Passport, PAN card, Driving License or University ID card.
  • After entering the test lab, locate your seat and computer system. Do not start the computer system until the invigilator makes an announcement for the same.
Q:   What are the items not allowed inside XAT exam centre?
A:

XAT exam is conducted in online mode so you don’t have to carry any stationary item apart from a blue/black ball point pen which is to be used for signing the attendance sheet.

Candidates should not carry to the examination centre, electronic items such as phone, watch, IPad, calculator, pager, etc. They should also not carry any metal items. Clothes and accessories having metal and metal jewellery are also prohibited inside the examination centres. Caps, headgears, sunglasses, clothes with pocket and hoodies are not allowed at the XAT exam centre. Candidates must also not carry bags and any other valuable item as candidates will not be allowed to carry anything inside the exam centre apart from a pen and documents. There will be no arrangement for depositing the bag at the exam centre.

Q:   What are the dos and don'ts for the XAT exam day?
A:

XAT aspirants must follow guideline as mentioned in the XAT admit card and the exam day instruction document

XAT Dos

  • Carry a ballpoint pen, two copies of admit card, photo ID and a passport size photo.
  • Be present at the XAT exam centre as per reporting time.
  • Wear simple outfits without pockets.
  • Submit a copy of XAT admit card and rough sheets before leaving the test lab.

XAT Don’ts

  • Don’t carry paper, notebook, book or such items.
  • Don’t carry electronic items such as mobile phones, pager, watch, ipad and calculator.
  • Don’t carry eatables inside the exam venue (allowed for diabetic students with permission).
  • Don’t reach late. Gates will be closed 30 minutes before the commencement of exam.
  • Don’t wear jewellery or any metal accessory.
  • Don’t leave the test lab before time or without permission.
  • Don’t resist frisking or identification procedures at the exam centre.

XAT 2026 result will not be sent in email. However, XLRI will send an email to candidates informing them about the availability of scorecard and how to download it. Candidates must keep a check on their email account for result notification.

XAT 2026 result date has not been announced by XLRI. However, since the scorecards are released by the third week of January every year, the XAT result 2026 can also be expected to be released by January 17 or 20, 2026.

No. Scores in CAT/XAT/GMAT is not mandatory for admission into BITS Pilani MBA in Business Analytics. However, those who have appeared for these entrance exams will get their score considered in the selection criteria. Appearing for BAAT exam is mandatory for MBA Business Analytics admission.
