Tummala Snikitha has ranked AIR 3 in NEET 2020. She scored 715 out of 720 marks. The NEET result was announced by the NTA on October 16, 2020. Read her interview with Shiksha.
Q: How are you feeling about your NEET result?
A: I am happy and excited when I saw my result.
Q: Why did you choose medicine as a career?
A: My parents are also doctors, and they motivated me towards the field of medicine.

Q: When did you start your preparations for NEET?
A: I started preparing for NEET two years back. I took coaching for NEET. I cracked the exam in my first attempt.
Q: What was your routine for NEET 2020 before and after the lockdown? How much time did you devote to self-study?
A: It was almost the same, except before the lockdown. I used to attend classes in my college and then came back home and studied for 8 to 9 hours. After lockdown, I used to study at home and attend online classes.
Q: How did you prepare for NEET 2020 during COVID-19?
A: The lockdown actually did not affect my preparations, as I had already completed my syllabus before the lockdown was announced. I did not let my focus shift to anywhere else.
Q: Which one is your strong subject and which one is your weak one?
A: I have a strong hold on all three subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I devoted equal time to each one of them.
Q: What was your exam day strategy?
A: I first completed my Biology paper, since it carries higher number of questions and then Chemistry and Physics.
Q: Which college is your dream college for studying medicine?
A: My dream medical college is AIIMS, New Delhi.
Q: What would you suggest to future NEET aspirants in terms of preparation, attitude, etc?
A: Keep your focus tight and work hard towards your goals.
The NEET 2020 exam was conducted on September 13 in over 150 exam centres across India. Nearly 85 per cent applicants could appear for the test on the said date. Therefore, NEET retest was organised for such students on October 14. NEET result is a combined result for both these exams.

No. NEET is mandatory for all MBBS admissions in India, government, private, deemed, or minority institution. The Supreme Court of India has made NEET the single entrance exam for all UG medical admissions across the country, and there are no exceptions.
