CBSE Exam Schedule Unchanged, Offers Relief for Class 12 Hindi Exam Amid Holi Celebrations. CBSE Exams Underway from Feb 15 to April 2; Alternative Attempt Allowed for Hindi Exam on March 15.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified that the Class 12 Hindi Core (302)/Hindi Elective (002) examination will be conducted as scheduled on March 15, 2025, despite concerns over Holi celebrations in some regions.
In an official statement, CBSE acknowledged that while Holi will be observed on March 14, 2025, in most parts of the country, celebrations may extend to March 15 in some areas. To accommodate students facing difficulties in appearing for the exam on that date, the board has announced an alternative arrangement.
CBSE statement reads: "CBSE has made a significant move by announcing the Date Sheet for Board Examinations 03 months in advance. This decision was aimed at providing students with ample time to plan their study schedule effectively. This proactive step helped students to manage their time better and approach their studies in a more organized and efficient manner. As part of the schedule, CBSE examination for Hindi Core (302)/Hindi Elective (002) for Class XII is scheduled to be held on 15th March, 2025."
Students who are unable to take the exam on March 15 will be allowed to appear in a special examination, conducted under CBSE’s existing policy for students participating in National or International level sports events.

The board reaffirmed its commitment to student welfare while ensuring the integrity of the board examinations. However, CBSE has not announced any postponement of the exam date, and the schedule remains unchanged.
Hi Eesha, CBSE exams Class 12 2026 will likely be held between February 17 and April 4, 2026, in pen and paper format. The board is expected to release the CBSE 12th date sheet 2026 in Nov 2025 on the board’s website- cbse.nic.in. CBSE will conduct the 10th, 12th board exams 2026 from February 17, 2026 in pen and paper format. The exams will conclude on April 9, 2026.
The board released the CBSE syllabus and exam pattern 2026 on the official website. Students must finish with their syllabus by January 2026 and start practising the CBSE sample papers and previous years question papers for better preparation of the exams.
