IIT Delhi Partners with R Systems to Establish Chair in Applied AI for Sustainability
IIT Delhi has established a Chair on Applied AI for Sustainable Systems in collaboration with R Systems, aiming to advance research and innovation at the intersection of AI and sustainability.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with R Systems International Limited, a Blackstone portfolio company and global leader in digital product engineering and technology solutions, to establish the “R Systems Chair on Applied AI for Sustainable Systems.” Professor Hariprasad Kodamana from the Department of Chemical Engineering has been appointed to this prestigious Chair.
Endowing a Chair at IIT Delhi promotes faculty excellence, elevates the institute’s global standing, and strengthens industry-academia collaboration by connecting corporate partners with academic talent and innovation. Funded through the CSR initiative of R Systems, the Chair aims to advance cutting-edge research and thought leadership in the field of Applied AI for Sustainable Systems.
Appreciating R Systems for their support in establishing the chair and enhancing research and education at the Institute, Prof. Preeti Ranjan Panda, Dean of Corporate Relations, IIT Delhi, said, “This endeavor presents a significant opportunity to advance research and development in Applied AI and Sustainability as it leverages the existing knowledge base, fostering academic excellence and groundbreaking research in this domain.
