The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with R Systems International Limited, a Blackstone portfolio company and global leader in digital product engineering and technology solutions, to establish the β€œR Systems Chair on Applied AI for Sustainable Systems.” Professor Hariprasad Kodamana from the Department of Chemical Engineering has been appointed to this prestigious Chair.

Endowing a Chair at IIT Delhi promotes faculty excellence, elevates the institute’s global standing, and strengthens industry-academia collaboration by connecting corporate partners with academic talent and innovation. Funded through the CSR initiative of R Systems, the Chair aims to advance cutting-edge research and thought leadership in the field of Applied AI for Sustainable Systems.

Appreciating R Systems for their support in establishing the chair and enhancing research and education at the Institute, Prof. Preeti Ranjan Panda, Dean of Corporate Relations, IIT Delhi, said, β€œThis endeavor presents a significant opportunity to advance research and development in Applied AI and Sustainability as it leverages the existing knowledge base, fostering academic excellence and groundbreaking research in this domain. By driving problem-solving and promoting best practices, the impact will extend beyond academia to the broader engineering community.”

Q: Β  How good are the BTech placements at IIT Delhi?
A:

A total of 1,200 offers were made and 1,150 students were placed during the Phase 1 of IIT Delhi placements 2025. Further, more than 50 international offers were made during IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25.

According to NIRF report 2025, the median package received during BTech placement 2024 was INR 19.08 LPA. Further, 711 students were placed and 49 students opted for higher studies out of total 946 students during IIT Delhi BTech placement 2024.

According to unofficial sources, the placement rate recorded during IIT Delhi BTech placements 2023 was 90.01%.

Q: Β  What is the highest package offered during IIT Delhi placements?
A:

50 students received domestic offers with package more than INR 1 crore per annum during the IIT Delhi placement drive 2023. Further, the highest international package offered during IIT Delhi placements 2023 stood at INR 2.5 crore per annum.
