This year, six Delhi University colleges have secured positions among the top 10, with Hindu College, Miranda College, St. Stephen’s College, and Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College ranked in the top five

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced the NIRF India Rankings 2024, with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras maintaining its lead in the Overall category. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru follows in second place, and IIT Bombay is third.

The rankings have expanded to 16 categories this year, up from 13 in 2023. New categories include Open Universities Ranking, Skill University Ranking, and State Funded Government Universities (STFUs). A total of 10,885 institutions participated this year, a notable increase from last year's 8,600.

Delhi University colleges performed exceptionally well, with six institutions in the top 10 of the Best College category. Hindu College is ranked first, followed by Miranda College, St. Stephen’s College, and Atma Ram Sanatan Dharam College in the top five. Other top 10 colleges include St. Xavier’s College (4th), PSG College Coimbatore (6th), Loyola College Chennai (7th), Kirori Mal College Delhi (8th), and Lady Shri Ram College (10th).

In the Engineering category, IIT Madras leads, with IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay in second and third places. The National Institute of Technology Tiruchirapalli is the only NIT in the top 10, alongside the IITs.

AIIMS Delhi retains its top position in the Medical category, with PGIMER Chandigarh and Christian Medical College Vellore following. Changes this year include adjustments to faculty-student ratio criteria.

In Management, IIM Ahmedabad is the highest-ranked institution, with IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta in second and third places. The Law category features NLSIU Bengaluru, NLU Delhi, and NALSAR Hyderabad as the top three institutions.
