CLAT Highlights 2026
The Common Law Admission Test is a law entrance exam. It is conducted for admission to 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses. The exam is held for admission to 24 NLUs for UG courses and 21 NLUs for PG courses.
Based on CLAT scores, the admissions are offered by NLUs. Apart from the NLUs in India:

CLAT is one of the most important law entrance exams in the country and is the most difficult to crack. More than 1 lakh candidates appeared for the CLAT exam this year. 97.03 per cent of the candidates registered for the CLAT Undergraduate test, and 93.92 per cent of the candidates registered for the CLAT Postgraduate test appeared in the exam last year.

Though CLAT Preparation takes months of practice, it is still not impossible. You can prepare for the CLAT Exam in one week with a correct and dedicated focus. But you should have at least some understanding of concepts to clear the exam.
You don't have to worry. In case you have forgotten your ID and password, which is pretty much normal. You can go and click on the forgot password tab in the registration window. You will receive the mail and then you have to reset your password. Once day you will be able to login.
See, it doesn't matter that you fill the form through laptop or phone. What matters is you fill the form. Yes, you should have good network connection and internet speed. It should not happen that you have filled the form and when you reach the last step you loose the connection. So what is important is network connection not the phone or laptop to fill the application form.
In CLAT Exam there will be 120 questions. The exam paper will be in MCQ format. Candidates will get 120 minutes to complete the paper. Since there is a negative marking candidates must attempt carefully.

CLAT 2026 registration is closed. There is no provision to fill the CLAT 2026 Exam application form in offline form. To fill the application form you can just check these steps below:

Select the program of study - After logging in, the first thing is to select the program of study 5-year LLB or one-year LLB
Fill the form - Start filling the form by entering different information like personal, communication, qualifying examination status, exam centre preferences (THREE centres can be selected in the order of preference), and reservation. It must be noted that from CLAT 2026 onwards it is mandatory to give their preferences to NLUs while submitting their CLAT 2026 Application Form. students must select their preferences carefully, as the consortium will only consider those NLUs that have been mentioned in the preference list.

Students can make changes in the CLAT Application by following the steps given below:
- Click on the application correction link
- Login using mobile number and password
- Click on the Edit Application button
- Go to 'Category and Seat Reservation' for NLU preferences, as well as, Personal details tab for OBC category status, whether Non-Creamy Layer or Creamy Layer

The Consortium has not announced the last date to submit the CLAT Application Form yet. However, once the application process starts it mostly remain opens for three months. This gives candidates sufficient time to complete it and submit.
Even with all the right documents, if you have not paid the application fee, your application form will be rejected. Since the application process cannot complete without submiting the fees. Once the window closes you won't be able to pay the fees or re fill the form.
CLAT is not directly based on the NCERT curriculum, but NCERT books act as a strong foundational resource for Quantitative Techniques and basic static GK. Candidates appearing for board exams can prepare for CLAT side by side.

CLAT 2026 Exam Centres
The NLU Consortium released the list of exam cities for the CLAT exam. Students could select at least three CLAT Test Centre (nearest first) as their preferred location. For this, they had to mark their options in the CLAT 2026 application form. Students were allowed to select up to three CLAT test centres while filling up the application form. The exam centers of CLAT 2026 was allotted to the students on the basis of their preference and the availability of seats. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 was conducted in around 139 test centres across the country.

Yes, candidate can challenge CLAT Answer Key. The Consortium will release the provisional answer key for CLAT first after which it will open a window to invite objections. After receiving the objection, the final CLAT answer key was published. Note that, unlike the provisional key, the final key can't be challenged. So, the keys included in the final keys will be considered the correct keys for questions asked in the CLAT exam.
Candidates must note that CLAT 2026 Objection Window is now closed. Candidates could raise objection on CLAT Answer Key on or before December 12 until 5 pm. Once the objections were received, the consortium published the CLAT Final Answer Key. Based on that, the CLAT Result will be announced.
