Majority of NEET 2025 Candidates’ Expecting Below 300 Score Based on Provisional Answer Key: Shiksha Poll

Shiksha.com ran a poll for the NEET 2025 aspirants regarding their estimated score in the exam. Majority of the respondents, accounting to 30 per cent, have voted that they are expecting a score below 300 out of 720. Know the detailed result of the Shiksha poll here.

Majority Candidates Expecting Less than 300 Marks in NEET 2025

The NEET 2025 result is expected to be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) anytime soon. Along with the result, the final answer key will also be released. As candidates are eagerly waiting for the scorecard to be released, they have already calculated their estimated score based on the NEET 2025 provisional answer key, which was released on June 3, 2025, and candidates could submit challenges till June 5, 2025.

Shiksha.com ran a poll for the NEET 2025 aspirants regarding their estimated score in the exam. Majority of the respondents, accounting to 30 per cent, have voted that they are expecting a score below 300 out of 720.

The second highest votes have been given to the option ‘Between 401 and 500’. Incidentally, only six per cent of the respondents are expecting a score in the range of 601 and 720.

As many as 14,688 candidates have participated in the poll. The options of the poll are given below:

• Between 601 and 720
• Between 501 and 600
• Between 401 and 500
• Between 300 and 400
• Less than 300

The options for score range between 401 and 500 and between 300 and 400 received close vote percentages of 25 per cent and 22 per cent, respectively. Around 18 per cent candidates are expecting a score between 501 and 600.

NEET 2025 Marking Scheme

In order to accumulate scores using the NEET answer key 2025, students are required to know the marking scheme of the examination as tabulated below: 

Given the high difficulty level of the NEET 2025 exam, the expected scores are lower for the majority of the candidates. Experts are even doubtful whether any candidate will be able to score a full marks of 720.

It is also estimated that the NEET 2025 cutoff will be lower than last year ,as not only was the exam difficulty level higher, but the number of test-takers was also lower than last year. Candidates will get their actual scores mentioned on the NEET 2025 scorecard, which can be downloaded from the official website by logging in through their registration credentials. Qualifying candidates will be eligible to participate in the NEET 2025 counselling process, which will likely begin in July 2025.
