UGC NET 2022 History Paper Leak: Various students on October 12, 2022, entered the UGC building to protest against the UGC-NET history paper leak that was conducted by the NTA on October 10, 2022. Students also demanded the removal of NTA as an examination conducting authority. Scroll down for more details and about the notice issued by the NTA for the same.
As per the banners, videos and pictures shared on social media, activists from the Student Federation of India (SFI) and All India Students Association (AISA) protested, entered the UGC building with banners, and demanded the removal of NTA's contract to conduct examinations on it. Also, students of the JNUSU demanded a re-conduct of the exam and a committee to investigate the matter of paper leakage and take action.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the UGC NET notification for the June cycle 2024 on April 20, 2024. JNSU president Aishe Ghosh in a letter to UGC said, "This is to bring to your urgent attention that the recently concluded NET exam for history had got leaked over social media before the conduct of the examination. There are also reports of some other paper leakages which has happened. Such mishaps and negligence on the behalf of the NTA have put student community in a receiving end.”

What is the notice issued by the NTA?
NTA issued a public notice on October 12, 2022 regarding the leakage of the History paper. The subject of the notice is: Advice to beware of Fake Tweets circulating on Social Media.

NTA denied the allegations and said that a fake Tweet and YouTube video is circulating on Social Media regarding the leakage of History (06) paper Shift -II, UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (Merged Cycles) conducted on October 10, 2022.
However, NTA clarified that there was no leak of any question paper. Further, the notice read that it is informed that the format circulating in social media is well after the conduct of the examination on October 10, 2022 and also it is not the same that was delivered to the candidates. NTA advised all the stakeholders that they should be beware of all such tweets on Social Media and trying to deviate genuine aspirants from the real issue.
From December 2018 onwards, the UGC-NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and before that, the NET was conducted by CBSE in 84 subjects at 91 cities across the country. The awarding of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/or eligibility for Assistant Professorship depends on the aggregate performance of the candidate in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC-NET. The examination for UGC-NET is conducted twice a year.

No. A candidate will not receive the UGC NET City Intimation Slip by post. The authority will release the City slip on the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Candidates required their login credentials to download the city slip including the application number and date of birth.
