Last week UGC NET preparation tips

The NTA UGC NET 2020 exam is just around the corner. With about a week left in the commencement of the exam, you must have already completed the UGC NET syllabus. So what should be the UGC NET preparation strategy in the last week? Are there any other things that you should focus on to ensure your success in UGC NET 2020 exam? Let us find out below.

Make a proper study plan

While you already might have a study plan that you must have followed for the past few months, it is important that you make a revised plan in the last week. The UGC NET study plan for the last week should divide your time majorly on three things:

  • Revision of the already studied topics
  • Solving of the previous year UGC NET question papers and mock tests
  • Relaxing and resting

Revision is the key

It is extremely important to revise what you have already studied over and over again. However, it is not advisable to dive deep into the subjects again. You only need to revive what you have already studied in short. If you had prepared some notes during UGC NET preparation earlier, it is best to revise those now.

Do not pick a new topic for study

With only a few days left for the exam, it is not advisable to pick any new topic for study. Picking up new concepts in the last week can lead to confusion and panic. Therefore, it is important that you stick to only revising what you have already studied.

Practice previous year UGC NET question papers

Practice as many UGC NET question papers as possible. Practicing will help you get aware of the type and difficulty of questions that are usually asked in the exam. However, do not just stop at attempting the question paper. Analysing the question paper and thereafter marking your weak and strong areas for the exam is equally important to ensure success in the UGC NET exam.

Attempt UGC NET mock tests

Since the exam is conducted in online mode as a computer-based test (CBT), it is highly important to attempt UGC NET mock tests as it gives you the real look and feel of the exam, which in turn boosts confidence immensely.

Focus on time management

While attempting a UGC NET mock test or a previous year question paper, it is advisable to keep a timer and complete the exam in the allotted time only. While attempting the paper, do not waste time if you do not know the answer to any question. Move on to the next question and likewise solve all the questions that you are confident about first. On an average, you should try to solve one question in one minute. You should try to solve the question papers and mock tests with not only speed but also accuracy.

Do not take NTA UGC NET paper-I lightly

Taking the UGC NET paper-I lightly is one of the common mistakes that candidates make. However, since UGC NET paper-I carries 100 marks weightage, which is a lot when it comes to scoring in the exam; it is advisable to always keep your focus in preparing for the paper well. Check complete UGC NET exam pattern.

Eat healthy and take rest

Last but certainly not the least, eating healthy and taking rest is extremely important during the last few days of the exam. In order to avoid getting tensed and nervous for the exam, never skip your meals and take proper sleep of atleast seven to eight hours. Even during UGC NET revision, take proper breaks in between and keep yourself calm. In case you feel extreme anxiety, try meditation.
