DU BA Eligibility & Highlights 2026
BA at Delhi University is offered in over 180 combinations. The UG-level course is available in different specialiations, including Political Science, Psychology, Journalism, French, etc. Delhi University BA Science course admissions is done based on performance in the CUET exam. There are BA (H) courses available at the university as well. The students wanting to take admission should select desired DU college and course combination during CUET form filling. For eligibility, the student must be a Class 12 or equivalent exam pass from a recognised board.
Students appearing for the CUET exam should choose any other of the following combinations:

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.
However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Yes, it is possible to get in DU without CUET. However, this is not applicable for traditional regular UG courses. For most programmes, the university asks for CUET UG or CUET PG score. For courses, such as MBA and Law programmes, the university also considers other exams. Students can also join DU SOL, NCWEB using Class 12 marks and skipping CUET.
Delhi University admission 2026 are now closed for the UG programmes. The DU CSAS_UG counselling process is has now concluded.
For seat allocation at DU, students are required to lock their college and course preferences after the result is out. Candidates will not be granted admission on the basis of merit of Class 12 There are some percentage criteria required to appear for the CUET exam for Class 12 candidates which is given below:
- Students must have passed Class 12 or appeared in Class 12 from a recognized board in any stream to take admission to bachelor's degree programmes in the central, state, private or deemed universities.
- For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50% in Class 12; for SC/ST, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% in Class 12 to be eligible for the CUET exam. For BTch programmes, the minimum aggregate for the General category candidates is 45%, and that of the reserved category candidates is 40%.

Before the CUET counselling process for DU will even begin, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission. The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:
Step 1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases.
Step 2: Submit College + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard.
Step 3: The University has released the dates for three DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists for all categories.
- The "freeze" option in seat allocation for CSAS (DU) is to be selected by the students to confirm their admission choice to the allocated college and course at DU.
- If candidates are happy with the assigned college and course, they can freeze the request through their dashboard.
- Once they select this option, they will not be considered for "upgradation" of choice in further rounds of CSAS.
- Candidates must only select this option only if they are satisfied with the allocated seat and want to take admission to this course & college
- If they do not choose to upgrade or freeze your admission, their current status will be maintained.
Step 4: Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the concerned college will verify the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to 'Accept' or 'Reject' the admission of the student basis the verification.
Step 5: Once the DU-affiliated college accords the approval, candidates will have to pay the 'Admission Fee' to confirm their seat.
On the basis of the availability of seats due to rejections, cancellations, and withdrawals, DU may announce multiple allocation rounds. The University of Delhi will display the vacant seats on its admission website (admission.uod.ac.in) before every allocation round.
DU registrations via CUET 2023 for UG programmes began on Feb 10, 2023 and were open till Mar 30, 2023. Additionally, for admission to PG courses, DU CUET-PG registrations for the 2023 session started on Mar 20 and were open till May 5. Interested candidates were able to apply online on the official website of CUET UG and CUET PG.
Followed by the application forms of CUET UG and CUET PG, DU has already started the DU CSAS registration for final college and course allotment of students who qualified the CUET UG exam. The process will begin soon for CUET PG qualifiers as well.
DU BA Cutoff
The university cutoff list for the UG course is prepared as per the applicant's scores in the CUET exam. Delhi University cutoff is released round-wise on its admissions portal. The cutoffs are now not released in open portals and can be checked by the students by logging into the DU CUET portal.

The minimum score needed by SC AI category for admission to this institute would depend on the course. For the BSc (Hons) in Computer Science programme, the Round 1 cutoff varied from 159.07 to 582.02. So, the minimum score required for this course was 159.07.

A total of 290 students were placed during Sri Venkateswara College UG 3-year placements 2023. Further, the median package offered in 2023 was INR 6 LPA. 50 companies visited and 290 students were placed in 2023. The number of students placed during the DU placements 2026 are not out yet. However, so far 1095 SRCC students were placed in the 2026 placement season. Additionally, the number of offers provided to Hansraj and LSR students was 130 and more than 160.

Honestly, both DU and LPU have their own advantages, but I'd definitely consider LPU for law. I studied MBA at LPU, and one thing I liked was the overall campus environment, the approachable faculty, and the exposure you get by interacting with people from different backgrounds.
