The average and median packages offered during IIT Bombay placements 2024 stood at INR 23.5 LPA and INR 17.92 LPA, respectively. The overall placement rate recorded during IIT Bombay placements 2024 was 74.53% with 1,475 students participating in the process out of 1,979 students. A total of 930 students registered,  819 students participated and 683 students were placed durinng BTech placements 2024. The placement percentage went this low because of minimal or no participation in the placement process from over 400 students. Most of them went for higher studies, such as MS / MTech / PhD and MBA courses, while many opted for entrepreneurship or civil services.

IIT Bombay offers BTech course in different specialisations and as an integrated programme. Its fee structure is cumulative of various components, such as tuition fees, caution money, and more. Students who get a seat allocated in the counselling have to pay the required fee amount. IIT Bombay BTech tuition fees range from INR 8 Lacs to INR 10 lakh. This range is inclusive of tuition fees for the integrated programme.

MBA is one of the popular courses of IIT Bombay, offered through Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management. The institute has a good ranking in the Management category. Here are few parameters that will help candidates decide if IIT Bombay is a good option for pursuing an MBA:

Students holding Bachelor's degree with 60 percent marks (55 percent for reserved category) are eligible to apply. Eligible students should visit the IIT Bombay website to fill the application form. The selection is through GATE or MAAT exam followed by an interview round.

IIT Bombay IDC has not release placement statistics specifically for BDes. However, the overall the highest international and domestic package offered during IIT Bombay placements 2023 stood at INR 3.67 crore per annum and INR 1.68 crore per annum, respectively. Additionally, the average package offered during IIT Bombay placements 2023 stood at INR 21.82 LPA. Besides, the overall placement rate recorded during IIT Bombay placements 2023 was 82%. Moreover, a total of 384 companies participated and 1,898 offers were made during IIT Bombay placements 2023.

IIT Bombay CAT cutoff 2024 has been released for admisison to its MBA course. The CAT cutoff 2024 for the students belonging to the General AI category is 90 for MBA programme. The IIT Bombay MBA Cutoff percentile has remained constant for the past three years. Therefore, it is less likely for candidate getting 85 percentile to get admission at IIT Bombar, among the General AI category.

IIT Bombay accepts UCEED scores for admisison to the B.Des course. The round 2 cutoff has been released. As per the cutoff list, the round 2 closing rank for B.Des was 14 for the General AII India category candidates. Durign the IIT Bombay UCEED cutoff 2023 the last round cutoff closed at 16, it means candidates scoring 50 in UCEED will not be eligible to get into IIT Bombay for B.Des admission. With a cutoff range of 50 to 80, candidates can choose IIT Hyderabad and IIT Guwahati for admission to the B.Des course. 

The total tuition fee for IIT Bombay MDes is INR 1 Lacs as per an unofficial source. Students belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD category or a child of institution staff are exempted from paying the tuition fee. There is a concessional and a non-concessional fee for candidates belonging to General/ EWS/ OBC-NCL category. The concessional is offered on tuition fee. Candidates apart from the tuition fee are required to pay examination fee, medical fee, etc. Students not staying in hostel are exempted from the payment of hostel fee. 

Apart from the course fee, candidates also have to pay a registration fee of INR 300 for General/ OBC Male and INR 150 for SC/ ST/ PwD and female candidates.

The total seat intake for MA by Research is 20. This seat intake is as per the 2022-2023 sanctioned strength. Additionally, the seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)/Other Backward Class Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL)/Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwD).

Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree (BA/ BCom or other degrees) or a four-year BA, BS, BTech or an earlier postgraduate degrees such as MA, MSc, etc. with a minimum of 60% aggregate for GN/ EWS/ OBC (NC) and 55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD can apply for MA by Research. Aspirants shall keep the documents for verification ready at the time of admission as well.

The HSS department at IITBombay is introducing the Master of Arts by Research (MA. Res) with precisely this emphasis. The faculty members in the department represent diverse areas of expertise and have considerable experience teaching with an emphasis on research skills while accommodating disciplinary crossovers with ease. This is especially important since many of the concerns of the Humanities and Social Sciences requireamulti-disciplinary approach. Our students have been successful both in working at the interfaces of different areas and in transcending traditional disciplinary boundaries in their work. The programme combines course work to build student competence in specific areas, research training, and researchmodules for independent work. Students are expected to carry out a successful programme of research within the duration of the programme. IIT Bombay MTech hostel fee ranges from Rs 1.39 Lacs to Rs 4.15 lakh. The fee amount may include the mess charges as well. Students opting for accommodation facility have to pay the hostel charges.
