IIT Delhi BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
IIT Delhi BTech is a four-year course, which is offered in a full-time mode across 14 specialisations. Some of the offered course specialisations are CSE, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Technology, etc. Admission to IIT Delhi BTech courses is based on the aspirant's JEE Advanced score. To qualify for JEE Advanced, candidates have to pass the JEE Main exam. Students can appear for JEE Main in two sessions.
After the entrance test result declaration, candidates have to go through the JoSAA counselling for the seat allotment process. To apply for admission to BTech branches in IIT Delhi, eligible students need to apply for JEE Main. Moreover, the institute also offers dual degree courses (BTech & MTech) in three specialisations.
The centralised counselling process for all the IITs is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which seat allotment is carried out for all the JEE Advanced-qualified candidates. The seat allotment is based on the IITD BTech cut-off and a candidate's preference for specialisations.

Yes, some of the hostels of IIT Delhi are air-conditioned. However, non-air-conditioned hostels are also available. The hostels are allotted to the students based on availability. The IIT Delhi application process for BTech generally starts with JEE Main registrations. Registrations are carried out twice a year in two sessions. The IIT Delhi BTech admission process is completely entrance-based. Hence, aspirants are selected based on their performance in the JEE Advanced exam followed by JoSAA counselling. The IIT Delhi admission cycle begins with JEE registration for the BTech course. The step-by-step admission criteria is explained below:
STEP 1: IIT Delhi BTech Application Process 2026

STEP 2: Release of Cutoff List
After the entrance exam is concluded, the counselling body releases cutoff list. Students who pass JEE Mains become eligible for the next and final exam. Selected candidates have to participate in the JoSAA counselling for seat allotment.

JEE Main counselling schedule is released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority after the declaration of the JEE Main result. IIT Delhi Placements 2025 reached a placement rate of 61% as per media reports. More than 40 international offers were made to UG students from reputed companies across multiple regions, including the Netherlands, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, the UK, the UAE and the USA have been received by UG students during the IIT Delhi placement 2025. Apart from this, more than 50 international offers (including PPOs) were received from around 20 international companies during Phase-I in 2024.

There are various components included in the course fee structure. The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi BTech fees range between INR 8 lakh and INR 10 lakh. No, the aspirants of BTech at IIT Delhi must have a valid score of JEE Main. The admission in Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) is through NTA JEE only. These candidates are further allotted seats through JoSAA counselling.
No, IIT Delhi offers admission to its BTech course based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores only. Candidates selected based on exam scores are required to participate in the JoSAA counselling. Admission to B.Tech. in Textile Technology in IIT Delhi is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.
National Testing Agency NTA has released the syllabus of JEE Main 2026 on the official website. Students can download the current JEE Main syllabus PDF from Shiksha page or from the JEE Main official page to start their preparation. It is advised that students prepare for the exam strictly as per the syllabus and do not leave any topic to prepare for the exam.
