Q:   Can I join BTech, if I do not join 12th?
A: 

You can join for B.Tech course through lateral entry. After your 10th, you can join for 3 year Govt authorized Polytechnic Diploma course. Polytechnic course is a 3 year Diploma programme in fields like electronics, electrical engineering, civil, mechanical etc. Once you successfully complete Polytechnic course, you can appear for the Lateral entry entrance test. Thus you can join in the second year or 3rd semester of the regular BTech course in engineering colleges.

Q:   Can I appear for the Class 10 board exam, without going to the regular school?
A: 

Students can appear for the 10th grade board exam even if they are not going to school. Students can opt for open school (NIOS) and study from home. Thus they can appear for NIOS 10th board exams. Another option is private registration. Students can register as private candidates and appear for board exams.

TN 10th Exam Pattern 2027

DGE prescribed the TN SSLC pattern along with TN 10th syllabus. It illustrates that each exam will be held for 100 marks and 2 hours and 30 minutes. However, 15 minutes extra are given for the reading of the question paper and verification of particulars by the students.

To clear the SSLC exam, students need to score minimum marks of 35 in each subject. However, for optional language papers such as Telugu, Arabic, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Gujarati, Sanskrit, French and Urdu, passing marks is not prescribed. Subject-wise exam pattern is explained below:

Tamil Nadu SSLC is easier as compared to CBSE 10th exam. Valuation is liberal for Tamil Nadu SSLC. Most of the students clear the Tamil Nadu SSLC exam. The pass percentage of TN SSLC is always higher than CBSE. As far as competitive exams are concerned, CBSE is better. Students who learned CBSE will be easily cracking competitive exams.
