NEET 2026 Counselling Dates
NTA’s role in the conduct of the NEET UG 2026 exam ended with the release of the results and scorecards. The NEET 2026 counselling is being conducted by the MCC. MCC NEET Counselling 2026 dates and schedule have been announced round-wise on the official website- mcc.nic.in. The entire duration of NEET counselling is around four months. The National Testing Agency, NTA decides the NEET exam date on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The exam date of NEET is fixed after considering factors like exam date of previous years, board exams and other events sjuch as festivals and elections.
Although earlier NTA was mulling the idea of conducting NEET twice a year, now it has been confirmed that the exam will be held only once a year in a paper-pencil based mode. NTA communicated this information through an RTI response where it was stated that NEET will be conducted once a year. This has quashed the possibility of conducting NEET twice a year. However, the NTA expert committee headed by ISRO Chief K. Radhakrishnan has recommended conducting NEET twice a year, but there has not been any official confirmation on it yet.

Yes, in most colleges. NCAHP said NEET UG will not be mandatory for BPT and BOT in the 2026-27 session. Many colleges admit through Class 12 PCB marks or their own tests. Top government colleges like KGMU still use NEET. Check each college's notice. Keep your PCB marksheet ready.

As far as my experience it is very tough to get MBBS seat in government colleges, but u can try in NRI qouta or any private quota in private medical colleges of Karnataka, because u have rural and HK qouta it can be beneficial to you

Usually no. Colleges admit students through CUET, JEE Main, university tests or state engineering exams. Amity Bengaluru's B.Tech Biotechnology also accepts NEET or AMCAT scores. So NEET can help in a few cases. Check each college's list of accepted exams.
