UCEED Institutes 2026 : Participating and Result-Sharing Institute List, Seat Allocation, College-wise Seat Intake

UCEED Participating Institutes 2026 - There will be around seven participating institutes of UCEED 2026. IIT Roorkee was newly added in the previous edition of the exam. The participating institutes offer B.Des courses and have an intake of around 225 seats. Admission to the course will be strictly based on UCEED 2026 merit ranks.

The list of candidates for B.Des admissions for the academic year 2026- 2027 will be released for IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur. A provisional seat allotment letter will be available for download in the candidate’s login after the seat acceptance fee has been successfully paid by those allotted a seat.

Q: At what time will the UCEED 2025 results be declared?

UCEED 2025 exam results will be declared on March 7, 2025.

Note that scorecards will be available for download from March 10, 2025. On result day, the candidate will only be able to see their qualifying status and scores.

The results will be declared for all candidates who have appeared in the entrance exam. However, the scorecard will contain the merit ranks, Part B, and total score only for shortlisted candidates.

Q: Who can participate in UCEED counseling?

The counseling process for UCEED 2026 will be conducted by IIT Bombay as a Joint Seat Allocation process.

To participate in UCEED 2026 counseling, the candidate must have qualfied in the UCEED 2026 entrance exam and been allocated a merit rank.

This means, if the candidate has failed to qualify Part A exam, he or she will not be allocated a merit rank, and therefore are not eligible to take part in the counseling process.

Q: What is the criteria for admission to B.Des programme offered by a UCEED 2024 participating institute?

Admission to the B. Des programme at UCEED 2024 participating colleges will be on the basis of UCEED 2024 merit rank. So, candidates with a higher rank will get preference in the seat allotment process. The admission committee will also consider the college option opted by the candidate and their order of priority. Note that to get a merit rank in UCEED 2024, candidates must have qualified Part A. In case the candidate fails to qualify Part A, his or her Part B answer booklet will not be evaluated.

Q: How can I select a UCEED 2024 participating institute for admission to the B.Des programme?

The candidate has to select a participating institute at the time of filling the UCEED 2024 counseling application form. The registration for UCEED 2024 counseling will open sometime in March 2024. Note that the allotment of seats will be based on the merit rank of the candidate in UCEED 2024 and college option opted for at the time of registration. The admission committee will given preference to the higher ranked candidate in the allotment process. So, to give oneself a better chance of getting admission to ones preferred college, one must try to get a higher rank.

Reservation Policy:

PwD (Persons with Disabilities) reservation is 5% horizontal and is carved out from the respective birth category.
Any unfilled PwD seats will revert to the original category.

B.Des. ProgramSchool of Innovation, IIT Indore

IIT Indore will admit the first batch of students to its School of Innovation for a Four-Year, Full-Time Bachelor of Design program.

Admission will be based on a valid UCEED 2025 score. All candidates who passed Class XII (or equivalent) from CBSE, State Boards, ICSE, and IB in any stream (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) can apply for the B.Des. program at IIT Indore.

UCEED 2026 - JOINT Seat Allocation Process

DeskCalendar Counselling: Apr ' 26

The counseling for UCEED 2026 participating colleges will be conducted by IIT Bombay in online mode as a Joint Seat Allotment process. Candidates who have qualified UCEED 2026 and will be assigned a merit rank in the design entrance exam can participate in the counseling process. Application to B. Des Programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur (Participating Institutes) is expected to begin in the second week of March 2026.

The allotment of seats to the B.Des program will be based on the following factors:

The UCEED 2026 merit rank
Reservation category
Seats available in each institute at the time of seat allocation.
Choices of institutes picked at the time of filing the counseling application form.

The seat allotment process of UCEED 2025 will be conducted in five rounds. The seat acceptance fee is INR 60,000 for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category candidates. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the acceptance fee is INR 15,000.

UCEED 2026 - Eligibility Criteria for admission

IIT Bombay has outlined the eligibility criteria of UCEED 2026 on its admission portal - uceed.iitb.ac.in. The eligibility criteria pertain to the age limit, number of attempts, academic qualification, etc., that candidates need to meet for admission. If a candidate fails to meet these conditions, he or she will be disqualified.

UCEED 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Age limit - OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category candidates need to have been born on or after October 1, 2000. SC, ST or PwD category candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1995.
UCEED 2026 qualification - The candidate must have qualified for UCEED 2026 and obtained a merit rank.
Qualifying examination - The candidate must have passed all five subjects in the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026. Candidates who appeared in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2024 or earlier are not eligible for admission.

Q: Will I be considered for admission to the B. Des programme at UCEED 2024 participating colleges if I do not get a merit rank?

The seat allotment to UCEED 2024 participating colleges will be through the Joint Admission Process conducted by IIT Bombay. Note that only such candidates who have been allocated a merit rank in UCEED 2024 are eligible to participate in the seat allotment process. The allotment of seats will be on the basis of merit rank of the candidate in UCEED 2024 and college option opted at the time of counseling registration. Also, to be included in the UCEED 2024 merit list, the candidate needs to have qualified Part A. Note that Part B answer booklets will be evaluated if the candidate qualifies Part A.

Q: Is the application process open for admission to the B. Des programme through UCEED 2024?

The application process for UCEED 2024 will open around the last week of September 2023. The candidate has the option to fil out the form both with regular and late fees. The UCEED 2024 exam will be conducted around the 4th week of January 2024. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria need to apply before the last date. Before filling out the application form, the candidate needs to ensure that he or she meets the prescribed eligibility criteria.

Q: What are UCEED 2024 result-sharing institutes?

The result-sharing institutes of UCEED 2024 will offer admission to some of their B. Des seats based on UCEED 2024 scores. However, they will not participate in the Joint Admission Process conducted by IIT Bombay. There were 22 result-sharing institutes for UCEED 2023. Since the participate institutes do not participate in the joint counseling conducted by IIT Bombay, the candidate needs to apply to them separately. Note that the participating institutes will also accept scores of other top exams like NIFT and NID that to offer admission to their design courses.

IIT Bombay is among the top design colleges in the country. So, most candidates appearing in the UCEED exam will want to know about the category-wise seat matrix at the institute: Open category - 15 seats EWS - 3 seats OBC-NCL - 10 seats SC - 5 seats ST - 2 seats ST-PwD - 1 seat Note that candidates belonging to open category will not be considered for admission under other categories.
