BITSAT 2026 May 25 Paper Shift-Wise Analysis Question Paper Analysis: BITS Pilani has finally completed BITSAT 2026 May 25 shift 1 and 2 paper. The exam was held in two shifts 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The BITSAT 2026 May 25 shift 1 paper was overall moderate to tough. Maths and Physics was tough with lengthy questions, while chemistry was easy to moderate. Students who attempted JEE Advanced, found BITSAT paper to be on easier side. Many students found the paper to be lengthy and were not able to attempt the bonus section as well. Physics

Moderate, formula-based questions. Students found lengthy

Important chapters: Modern Physics, Electrodynamics, Magnetism, Optics, EMI, Electric Flux, Gauss Law, SHM, etc.

Moderate to Difficult. Questions were out of the league, and the language was difficult to understand.

Important Chapters: Rotational motion, work, power energy, Class 11th syllabus had maximum weightage, EMI, AC, Ray Optics, Semiconductors,

Chemistry

Easy to moderate, Mostly questions were direct with few tricky questions

Important chapters: Coordination compounds, p-block, d and f-block, chemical bonding, solutions, electrochemistry, name reactions, etc.

Moderate to tough. Mostly questions were NCERT-based. 

Important Chapters: Organic named reaction, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics

Maths

Tough with lengthy and tricky questions

Important chapters: Vector 3D, Probability, Binomial theorem, Matrices and Determinants, Area under curve, Trigonometric functions, Maxima and Minima

Tough. Lengthy super calculative

Important Topics: Vector and 3D, differential equation, inverse trigonometric

Logical Reasoning and English

Easy to moderate

English and LR section were doable. However, no questions were asked from synonyms. Idioms, sentence-arrangement. LR- figure folding, visual representation-based questions, water images, non-verbal type questions. Were much similar to that of session 1 BITSAT LR questions. Calculus and vectors had maximum weightage, 3D geometry, LPP (2 questions).

To evaluate probable scores using memory-based BITSAT question paper answer key, understanding of marking scheme is important. To calculate scores using unofficial answer key, follow the mentioned steps below -

  • Add 3 marks for every correct answer

  • Deduct -1 mark for every incorrect response

Q:   How many questions will be present in the BITSAT paper?
A: 

In BITSAT, students have to answer 130 objective questions. Each question will have four options. Correct one has to be selected. If all questions are finished before time, then additional 12 questions will be given to students to solve for extra marks.

Q:   Will I be guaranteed admission if I meet the BITSAT cutoff?
A: 

Students will not be able to confirm their allotment if they meet the BITSAT cutoff. However, they will have higher admission chances to their choice of course and campus. Since the allotment process will consider other factors too along with cutoff, the students will know their admission status after the seats allotted are announced.

Q:   What are the BITSAT exam slot timings?
A: 

BITS, Pilani, conducts the BITSAT exam in two shifts. The timings for the morning session are from 9 AM to 12 PM, and others are from 2 PM to 5 PM in the afternoon session. Candidates can select the BITSAT slot timings using the BITSAT slot booking system.

Q:   How are the BITSAT additional questions divided?
A: 

Students will be given 12 additional questions if they finish all 130 questions within 3 hours. Three questions will be available from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and Logical Reasoning. Students will not be able to go back to previously answered 130 questions, once they start solving additional questions.

Q:   Can I request to review my BITSAT score?
A: 

BITS Pilani authorities will not accept any requests to review BITSAT score. Since score is calculated after careful revision, authorities will consider it as final. If there are mistakes in other details, then it can be informed to authorities.

Q:   Is extra time given for the 12 BITSAT additional questions?
A: 

Students will not be given any extra time to complete 12 additional questions in BITSAT paper. Additional questions have to be solved within 3 hours. These will only be provided if students complete 130 original questions before exam ends.

Q:   What is the division of questions in BITSAT pattern?
A: 

The BITSAT question paper is divided into four section. For the Mathematics/Biology section, there will be 40 questions. Physics and Chemistry will have 30 questions in each section. Logical Reasoning will have 20 and English Proficiency will have 10 questions. There will 130 questions in the question paper.

Q:   Are mock tests important for BITSAT preparation?
A: 

BITSAT mock test should be used so that candidates can understand exam pattern. Mock tests will also help students know important topics and questions. Another advantage of mock test is that students can work on their time management skills and be well prepared for exam.

To get admission to the BE course at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus, students are required to appear in BITSAT. As per previous years' cutoff stats, it has been analysed that the minimum scores are between 230 and 250. But with 250 marks, the chances are less of getting selected.
