On March 13, 2020, as the GATE 2020 results were declared, Kapit Agarwal, secured AIR 1 in Electronics and Communication (EC) branch and emerged as one of the top scorer of GATE 2020.
Kalpit Agarwal is the topper of GATE 2020 for the Electronics and Communications (EC) branch. He is among the 29 toppers of different subjects for the GATE exam conducted on February 1, 2, 8, and 9. He scored 82 marks out of 100 in the GATE exam.

Kalpit stated that his family especially the parents are the reason behind his performance in the exam. He shared that the parents helped him in the studies and also kept him motivated during the preparation.

Out of 8,59,048 registered candidates, 6,84,903 (79.73%) candidates appeared for the GATE 2020 in eight sessions at 566 centres across 199 cities. The exam was conducted for 25 subjects/papers on aforesaid dates. The list of subject-wise toppers is given below along with their role numbers.
