Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has released a video related to exam day guidelines for GATE 2021 exam on its YouTube channel. The exam conducting authority wants every GATE 2021 aspirant to follow these pre, during and post preventive measures on the exam day.

GATE 2021 Exam Day Guidelines: Pre Exam measures
Candidates can go through the pre-exam guidelines/preventive measures for GATE 2021 below:
- To avoid crowding at the GATE 2021 exam centres, candidates should reach at least an hour before the exam begins.
- While at the entry to the exam centre, candidates must maintain social distance from each other. They have to follow the rope queues and floor marks while standing in the queue outside the GATE exam centre.
- At the entrance to the exam centre, the temperature of all the candidates will be checked using a Thermo gun. Candidates having a temperature above 99.4 degrees Fahrenheit have to sit in the isolation room.
- After entering the exam venue, invigilators will check the GATE 2021 admit card and photo ID of all candidates by maintaining a safe distance. Barcode guns will be used to check the admit card and assign lab numbers to candidates.
- Candidates are allowed to carry masks, hand gloves, personal hand sanitiser bottle, a simple pen/pencil, transparent water bottle and exam related documents (admit card, Id proof) in the GATE exam centre. After reaching to the assigned hall, candidates have to complete biometric registration.
GATE 2021 Exam Day Guidelines: Preventive Measures during the Exam
During the exam, candidates are required to follow the below guidelines:
- A staff member will approach candidates for signing in a list comprising candidates name and roll numbers. He/She will match the candidate’s ID to cross-verify his/her details in the registration form.
- Candidates are not allowed to use any unfair means or exchange anything with other candidates. If anyone found doing any such thing, he/she will be disqualified from the exam.
GATE 2021 Exam Day Guidelines: Post Exam Measures
As soon as the exam concludes, candidates need to follow the below guidelines/measure:
- After the GATE 2021 exam is over, candidates can move out in an orderly manner as instructed by the invigilator. It is likely that only one candidate will be allowed to exit from the exam hall.
- All candidates must drop the GATE 2021 admit card in the box kept at the exit. Volunteers will be present along the exit paths to ensure the social distancing is maintained.
All the aspirants must follow the exam guidelines and preventive measures recommended by the authority. These guidelines are to conduct GATE 2021 smoothly. These measures have been taken for candidates to avoid getting infected from COVID-19.
