Whether to drop a year or not?

Actually, in my opinion, it depends on your state of mind and strategy over the subject. If you are good with your subject, you can drop a year and can prepare better for the upcoming examination. Moreover, you have confidence in you and also should have a proper study plan, if necessary you must have good coaching. If you don’t want to join in any other department other than engineering then you can drop a year ahead. Really if you want to drop a year for WBJEE preparation, then you should try to target the best score and also should have a focus on remaining examinations like JEE Mains, BITSAT, SRM, etc., also you should have determination, dedication towards the examination. If you want to drop a year, you should maintain your spirit till the end of the examination. At last, you should not think that I have wasted a year. Finally, you should say that I have got a good score and I utilized this year without wasting it.

If you have good confidence that you can get colleges with your score then you can wait for subsequent counseling sessions, but make sure not to waste your time. If you are willing to wait for subsequent counseling sessions then there is no problem. You can also take admission before the counseling sessions.
