If you are willing to struggle hard for a few months then you can attempt an exam in the upcoming month of May. For this, be planned and have a proper study plan. If you are good with your study plan then you might easily crack your exam.
Whether to drop a year or not?
Actually, in my opinion, it depends on your state of mind and strategy over the subject. If you are good with your subject, you can drop a year and can prepare better for the upcoming examination. Moreover, you have confidence in you and also should have a proper study plan, if necessary you must have good coaching. If you don’t want to join in any other department other than engineering then you can drop a year ahead. Really if you want to drop a year for WBJEE preparation, then you should try to target the best score and also should have a focus on remaining examinations like JEE Mains, BITSAT, SRM, etc., also you should have determination, dedication towards the examination. If you want to drop a year, you should maintain your spirit till the end of the examination. At last, you should not think that I have wasted a year. Finally, you should say that I have got a good score and I utilized this year without wasting it.
Explore colleges based on WBJEE
Best colleges one can get with a low score.
No need to worry if you get a low score, you have many other options like private colleges, deemed universities, etc., you can also go abroad for Engineering studies. You can join in Degree, or do M.Sc and further studies like research. You can wait for one more year to get a good score. You can also write other college entrance exams like BITSAT etc., you can choose local colleges with your low score. You can also choose some specialisation courses or integrated courses as well.
Should one wait for subsequent counseling sessions?
If you have good confidence that you can get colleges with your score then you can wait for subsequent counseling sessions, but make sure not to waste your time. If you are willing to wait for subsequent counseling sessions then there is no problem. You can also take admission before the counseling sessions. You can also go for management seats if you are willing to pay a huge amount.
Should one opt to attempt JEE Mains again in May?
If you are willing to struggle hard for a few months then you can attempt an exam in the upcoming month of May. For this, be planned and have a proper study plan. If you are good with your study plan then you might easily crack your exam. Also, consult your friends who have cleared this exam with good scores. You can also take help by accessing the Internet. You should go through the previous year’s papers and should attempt at least one Mock test. Revise each and every concept, formula. Don’t hesitate in writing Mock tests and self-evaluation. Don’t ignore previous papers and sample papers. Make sure to clarify your doubts. Writing Mock tests and having analysis with your previous exam, also avoid repeated mistakes. Avoid stress and tension. Be patient until your result. Have a sound sleep. If possible, try group discussions to improve your skills. Check your performance day by day. If you are interested to attempt again, please follow these steps.

Overall, WBJEE is considered moderately tough. Level of syllabus is similar to 12th standard qualifying exam. Therefore, students who are well prepared for their board exams are likely to score well in WBJEE.

No, there is no provision for conducting WBJEE twice a year. WBJEEB has always conducted WBJEE as an annual one day examination. If there is any change in exam pattern, it will be announced online.

There is no minimum passing mark for WBJEE. However, for admission, candidates should have score minimum 45% marks in 12th qualifying examination (40% for reserved categories).
