West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) conducts WBJEE as an annual exam. The candidates have to pass the exam for admission to the undergraduate engineering & technology and pharmacy courses offered by the state participating institutes. Candidates aspiring to score well in WBJEE 2026 are advised to begin their exam preparation with a proper strategy.
WBJEE 2026 will be held tentatively in April 2026. As per the official WBJEE 2026 eligibility criteria, the candidates will have to secure a minimum of 45% marks in the 10+2nd standard (or equivalent) qualifying exam. Before a candidate begins with the exam preparation, it is important to check the WBJEE eligibility criteria. It is one of the important factors alongside the WBJEE syllabus and WBJEE pattern.
WBJEE 2026 Preparation Tips
Some of the important preparation tips of WBJEE 2026 are listed below.
Set a clear goal
This is one of the most crucial steps involved in the study plan for the WBJEE 2026 exam. The maximum attainable score in WBJEE is 200 out of 200. Before a candidate begins with their WBJEE exam preparation, they should be very clear about their goal. For instance, a candidate can set a goal that he/she want to score 150 out of 200 in the WBJEE exam. It is said that “things that are measured can be achieved more easily.” The reason is that one tends to evaluate their performance at every step.
Start your exam preparation early
It is always better to start the exam preparation early instead of waiting for it to be right around the corner. Since WBJEE 2026 is scheduled to be conducted in April 2026, the candidates should start their preparation as early as possible. This is intended for candidates to have a better understanding of the concepts involved in the topics listed in the WBJEE syllabus.
Prepare a timetable
One of the effective methods of maintaining discipline while studying is to prepare a study timetable. By having a timetable, the candidates will be able to divide and allot their time equally to all subjects and topics. This will help the candidates complete the syllabus before the examination and allot them time to revise.
Study from the recommended WBJEE preparation books
There are quite a few books available in the market that will help the candidates in the WBJEE exam preparation. Candidates can pick books for both theory and practice problems. Preparing by checking the best references is one of the important points listed in the study plan for WBJEE. This will surely help the WBJEE candidate to obtain a better score in the exam.
Make notes
Preparing important and appropriate theory notes is going to help the candidates a lot in their WBJEE exam preparation. Preparing notes will help the candidates during the last-minute revision. Since it will not be easy to go through the complete chapter as they will have limited time left, notes will serve the purpose of revision by providing them with the crux of the matter or important pointers from the chapter.
Revision is a must
Several topics in the WBJEE syllabus require regular revision. Candidates will easily lose hold of such topics when not revised regularly. They can refer to notes whenever they want to revise certain topics instead of going through the complete chapter, which is also a time-consuming and lengthy process.
Attempt mock tests and previous years' papers
Mock tests will help candidates become familiar with the WBJEE 2026 exam pattern. Through the mock test, the candidates will be able to know the nature of the questions that the WBJEE question paper will consist of. Mock tests are also helpful in improving time management skills. The previous years' WBJEE question papers can also be solved to understand the subject weightage and commonly asked questions.
By following the WBJEE 2026 preparation tips and study plan, the candidates will have higher chances of securing the scores that they want for admission into their preferred courses and colleges. WBJEE 2026 is an important examination and the candidates need to be well prepared for it.
